I didn’t think iTunes was even around anymore. But I don’t have iTunes on my computer. I only have Apple Music for digital.

Any other thoughts / suggestions? Thanks!

Have you tried removing the album from your library, then re adding it? I've had a few instances where singles get left out of an albums tracklist once it releases. Re-adding has fixed it for me.

Yeah I suppose we’ve only seen the leaks from the rose gold model which does look glaring. Agreed about waiting to see how good the pictures will look (I can only imagine amazing as I’m still impressed with my X).

I use an Otterbox case anyway so I can’t imagine it will be that big of a deal.

It’s been acting weird for years (alleged repairs by Apple did not help) and I never use it anymore.

It’s all in iTunes. It’s (mostly) organized by artist, albums etc. I want to put the stuff that is not available on streaming on my phone at some point. There’s “rare” stuff too so I don’t want to lose it.

  5. I could be wrong but I thought your local library became available with an  music subscription a la music match? Play around in the preferences but I’m pretty sure that works? I’ve had no problem accessing my own private files I add to iTunes on my phone after they’re uploded to the cloud. Unless you’re running Catalina beta only, iTunes is where you’re accessing  music. Functions exactly the same.

So here's what I do. I've had issues with Apple Music and iTunes match, so I sort of treat my iTunes Library and Apple Music separately. When I enable iCloud Music Library, all of the album art, custom sorting, and some other misc. info with my iTunes collection gets overwritten by whatever Apple has on file. So live songs, for instance, will get sorted under the album the studio versions are under.

I find that annoying, because I have iTunes organized how I want it. So I never enable iTunes Music Library on my MacBook. All those local files exist as if Apple Music doesn't exist.

I enable the iCloud Music Library on my phone. That way I can download songs to my phone and listen to them without using data, though it comes with the tradeoff of dealing with some of the album artwork and names getting wonky, as I mentioned above. Nice thing is if I want to revert all that info back to how I like it, I just switch iCloud Music Library off on my phone and plug it back into my computer or sync it over wifi.

So that's my system. I haven't looked into any other ways of doing that since Apple Music came out, so I'm all ears if anyone reading this knows of a better way.

As far as your iMac is concerned, you could definitely migrate your library to an external hard drive and set iTunes up to reference that as your library when it's plugged in. If your not syncing with that a whole lot, that might be your best option. You could also store it on a NAS device, and pull your library through your network. Performance wise, though, that will be very dependent on how good your wireless network is.

Of course, there is iTunes match and all that, like @David Parke said above. I just haven't tried that in years, and my previous experience with Match wasn't very positive.

    Anyway, I hope that helps!

I don't have Apple Music because my cable provider pays for my Spotify. Putting it on an external drive might be my best option then, though I don't trust those. Thanks for the help.

It's the same sort of drive that's in your iMac. Replace it every 4 years or so and you don't have anything to worry about. Just make sure your Time Machine backup (assuming you're using it) also targets the drive your iTunes library is on, and you're totally fine.

So you have a redundant backup. If you're storing all your music on an external, that's one copy of it. If that drive goes, so does all your music. Include that drive in your Time Machine Backup, and it creates a, well, backup copy of all your music files.

I just downloaded the public beta for iOS 13 and I can't seem to find the setting for "Announce Messages with Siri". Has anybody else had trouble with this?

Man I friggin’ love this iPad. Got a pencil and notability, setup a few RSS feeds, and now I can’t put it down.

I may not own a laptop ever again seeing as I’ll code on my work computers.

I put an Alpine iLX-107 head unit in my truck tonight, and wireless CarPlay is a godsend. I had an old Pioneer unit years ago in my old car that did wired CarPlay but it was a hassle over time. I’m excited for the iOS 13 changes to CarPlay now.

Is anyone having trouble having links open up in their respective app with the iOS 13 beta? For me it’s opening in safari every time but for my friend it’ll open in the twitter or instagram.
