I didn't know there was an actual "shortcuts" app made by apple.

 

It used to be an app called "workflows" that Apple purchased and changed the name if I understand that correctly

Correct. The Workflow team works at Apple now. Great people, great app. I use them every single day.

 

Anyone know if there is a shortcut to share my daily activity (from the Activity app) with a specific person?

 

Depends what you wanna share specifically. You can pull out things from the health app and send them, I know that. I have an activity report that I run that tells me how much I've moved/steps/weight loss over a specific time. I don't remember seeing anything about the activity app, but I haven't checked in a while.

 

Kind of just a snapshot of the three rings basically. Whether it pulls from the Activity app itself or the Health app, either would be fine. I don't see any options to choose the Activity app as a source in Shortcuts, and I think it's not pulling from the Health app because there isn't a share button on the Health pages from what I can tell.

Basically what I'm trying to is say "Hey Siri, send activity report." and it will send a 'report' or whatever to my wife.

This is something I wrote/borrowed/modified at some point ... that you may be able to play around with to get it to do something like that. Right now it asks for days to look at, but you could hard code that. Look at the "find health samples where" shortcut ... that's what I was playing with.

 

I can't tell if this is a scam or something but I just got an email to my Apple ID account that I just got charged for a premium Spotify subscription, but I don't think I've ever registered for a spotify account.

The email was from [email protected] and the subject line and url on the Apple page are misspelled. I'm assuming this is a scam and should change my Apple ID password right?

 

Definitely a scam. Make sure your password is secure, put on two factor, and don't do any of that from the links sent in that email.

lol. I went on a big Workflow kick last year, I was just now looking back through some of these and realized how many I don't use at all after I made them. Hahaha, oops. I've never used my convert to gif workflows and I should.

I do use some of the other ones quite a bit though. My "errand" workflow gets used a bunch, I have one for logging my weight that I use almost every two days. I use the the tip calculator one all the time. My save to home computer workflow gets used a lot. So it was worth the diversion.

lol i wish I knew how to do any of this shit. I came up with a shortcut idea that would legitimately cut out an hour of work every morning if i knew how to do it properly

Learning and playing around with automation stuff is fun.

 

It'd be a going to work shortcut that would

A) Tell me how long my commute is gonna be
B) Tell me what's on my calendar for the day
C) Tell me how my Facebook Ads performed the day before
D) Tell me how my Emails performed the day before

I can't imagine being able to pull data from my ESP, Facebook or Google Analytics to make it go, but going into work armed with that data wouldn't suck.

 

Yeah, I don't know what Facebook/Google provide from an API standpoint to get that information easily. You could always scrape the information, but you'd have to do that on a computer. Something like that seems more like an app you'd build and have run daily.

The daily commute and daily calendar thing are pretty easy though.
