After my earpods broke for the third time in two years I think I'm going to spend the money and get a set of airpods on my lunch break today. I've been able to get Apple to replace the earpods for free whenever they've broken, but the frustration of it happening so frequently on top of the regular annoyance of the wire getting caught on stuff all the time...I'm ready to go wireless, even if the price is still a bit on the premium side for my preference.

I had hesitation with the price but I’ve had mine for some time now and regret nothing. I love them

All three of the phones this year are going to have Face ID. Apple is going to use Full Active LCD screens for the budget iPhone so that the phone can basically be as bezel-less as the OLED phones.

Here to say if you aren't using the Carrot weather app (for iPhone and Apple Watch) then you aren't doing your weather right.

I get some snarky comment each day that makes me smile/laugh. Except for yesterday...I got one about the Thailand cave story that made me kind of shake my head. Too soon Carrot, too soon.

a woman in our office uses that app and reads the updates every morning and some of them are hysterical. however my loyalty is to dark sky.

It uses Dark Sky as it's data source.

Yeah, they are quick to do some of those updates. Did you go Ultrapremium in the new update? The maps look wild.

  14. I keep hearing about dark sky. What’s the most appealing feature? I used to use wunderground because it is basically like waze for weather, which I found to be genius. Then I did a huge app purge and got rid of superfluous stuff. The stock weather app works just fine for me right now.

I personally have found dark sky to be the most accurate, even down to the minute when they say rain will begin/end. Interface is nice, their maps are easy to access and read, just an overall great app well worth the $3 I spent on it.

I have not. How much does that cost? I’ve heard the layered maps are wild.

I believe you also can choose weather underground as a source with the ultra premium plan.

The stock weather app works pretty good. Isn't flashy at all but it's been pretty accurate.

$9.99 for the year, $1.49 monthly. I am such a weather nerd that I think I'll give it a try.

Honestly, changing the icon for Carrot is worth the basic-premium price. More apps should let you change the icon.

  19. My mouse died. (It was the old one with batteries in it, the battery connections weren't working any more and it would disconnect a lot.)

Apparently I can order one and it can be here in 2 hours.

    Wow.

  20. Magic Mouse? Mine ALWAYS comes unpaired from my computer. Switched on a Logitech MX Master somethingorother and it’s incredible for video editing. They also have software that’ll let you move to another computer (with minimal lag) just by moving to the edge of the screen.

  21. I tried that mouse a while back and it didn't take. Too much going on for me.

I don't have an issue except with a couple of the rechargeable batteries I have. So, I'd rather just get one that can be charged at night and not worry about batteries anymore.

Logitech MX Master 2S is definitely the best mouse on planet earth imo. It's what I use, and I couldn't see me using anything else. The ergonomics alone are worth it. I've set up a few commands using the buttons but tbh I don't use those a ton. It's just really really comfortable.

  23. Just wasn't for me. I don't want extra buttons, the plastic rattled and made weird sounds and felt weird in my hand (too heavy), and I hated the track wheel and back and forward buttons. The simplicity of the Magic Mouse 2 is exactly what I want in a mouse. Swiping on the top is by far my preferred method of navigating websites, scrolling, and going back.

Magic Mouse definitely rules when it comes to gestures. I actually use the Magic Trackpad (positioned to the left of my keyboard) with my Logitec so that I still have all of the gesture inputs.
