It’s a bit unfair to compare it to Touch ID on the iPhone 7/8.

Like, conceptually, it’s the best. However it is slower and it does not work as often, I finds myself having to put in my passcode more often than I did with my iPhone 7. That said, I works in situations where the iPhone 7 wouldn’t, I.e. the gym when your hands are sweaty.

I’d say as of not it’s a toss up, though Face ID is definitely the one you want for the future and as Jason said it makes Touch ID seem super antiquated.

With face ID do you not get to enjoy your lock screen or take time to read notifications? One of the reasons i plan on getting another SE is the Touch ID works too quickly on the newer phones.

You swipe up to actually get to your home screen so if you touch the screen or raise to wake, it will still recognize your face but not go to the home screen until you swipe

Ah, gotcha; thanks for clarifying. I like the touch a lot though now that i think of it it’ll be way nicer to use face ID when wearing gloves.

  6. And even better it “unlocks” your notifications when you look at it, so only you can see them on the lock screen.

I’m a teacher and a lot of the time I teach from an iPad where I have lesson plans, books I’m reading from, etc. and in class I find myself trying to navigate my iPad by swiping up and down and I get so frustrated at it not working lol. It’s amazing how quickly the new setup on the X has become very natural. There’s almost no learning curve to switching from an older model.

Is the Apple Watch series 3(non cellular) compatible with the iPhone SE?

Yes. The watch won’t work with the old 5s I think, but will on the 6 and forward including the SE.

I upgraded to an 256gb 8 yesterday after being stuck with a 6s since my 7 died. $100 off at Best Buy. This time I got AppleCare. Happy to have my storage space back and this camera. True Tone display is pretty neat. I like the warmer color it mostly displays at.

The non-cellular version works on 5S, but not the cellular version.

Looking for some advice. Considering buying an entry-level MacBook for some small work stuff. Long-term, would you go with the 2017 Air (I know it has a dinosaur display, not a deal-breaker), or the 12" MacBook? Not sure I can justify the additional $250, unless the processor/graphics are really just that much better for the longer-term. The battery and smaller size also kinda scare me about the 12".

uh I'd go with the 13" MacBook Pro w/o Touchbar.

Yea i love my 12” MacBook but now that the pro is the same price that seems like a no-brainer

And battery on my 12” is still pretty great after 1.5 years of use

Geez, I didn't realize they were the same price. I hadn't considered a Pro, because I don't need "Pro" stuff, but if they are the same price..
