Got my preorder in within 3 minutes. Was a really easy process using the app and Apple Pay this time, actually one of the easier iPhone preorder experiences I’ve had. Hopefully it turns out to be as good as we hope it is!

 

Store didn't go up in Ireland until 8:10.

Got a white 256gb 2-3 weeks delivery. Cool.

 

So... I might have a phone reserved. For pick up hopefully.

What cases are people going with? I usually prefer a clear ultra slim shield (ala Peel) but wondering if I should go for something more robust this time. I wonder how long it’d take me to get jack of the folio case...

 

Sprint still showing 11/3 ship date, and my card is charged. No confirmation email yet buy my dad got one immediately. Hmmm. I think I got it?

 

I don't know how, but all four variants still have a Nov. 2-3 ship date through T-Mobile. Going to do this over the phone from here on out. Almost an hour later and somehow still managed to get one for Nov. 3!

 

Yeah I think Sprint is the same way. Still no confirmation email but my card got charged SO here's to hoping. Congrats :)

 

So what's the standard practice for turning in your old phone? Do a backup/store any photos you want on an external source and then do a factory reset before you go in? Or what do people normally do?

Back up your device to iCloud and/or iTunes, factory reset, make sure find my iPhone is disabled.

The last part is key because (I'm assuming you're trading in), you won't be able to unless its turned off.

 

Set my alarm for 2:50, fell back asleep waiting for 3. Woke up around 3:30. Mid November and totally cool with it.

I still hate the notch and don’t expect to warm up to it very quickly. I’d take a black status bar in a heartbeat to hide this thing. I hope popular apps are updated quickly.... saw a clip on reddit the other day where even IG was clearly not optimized yet, with no padding or the correct vertical alignment between the notch and the logo. UI inconsistencies will drive me mad. Granted the phones not out yet, but when one of the biggest apps who probably has access to prototype units can’t get it right, I shutter to think of how shitty my local bank app will look for at least the next few months-year.... right in time for them to integrate all the sensors under the screen and kill the notch ;)

 

Got off the phone with Sprint not long after I placed my order at almost 4am. They said I should be receiving the phone next week and my order did officially go through.
I'm so happy! Congrats to anyone who ended up getting one.

It looks like Apple had the lowest stock to sell themselves.

I’m so disappointed about waiting until the end of November, but even more so that it was the Apple Store app that borked me into not being able to order until 15 minutes past the hour.

 

Thankfully was able to fall asleep yesterday despite not having received a confirmation email, and then woke up this morning and it's confirmed for launch date delivery. Glad that's over with! Glad you got yours too!

 

Anyone have to restart their phone regularly to get music to add to your library? I have restart my 7 about once every few days because it just won’t add music anymore.

 

Better buy the $200 AppleCare+ for your X - if you break the screen it’ll cost $279 to fix it and if you get liquid in the phone it’ll be $549

What is the payment with Apple care?

 

If you have AppleCare+ it’s the same deductable as the other phones - $29 for screen repair $99 for a whole unit

 

If you were asking about IUP monthly payments for the X it’s 49.91 a month for the 64 and 56.16 a month for the 256

 

So you pay $200 and then in the chance that your screen breaks you save $40. Seems like quite a deal.
