So my 2011 Macbook Pro 15 inch had it's GPU finally die out on me. I was devastated. So I jokingly texted my mom asking if she had any spare MBP's hanging around the house and she fuckin DID. She just bought a new 2017 MBP and is giving me her 2015 13 inch MBP. I'm PUMPED. Significant upgrade from my last one.

Update: I'm trading in the 2015 MBP I got for free from being at my last company for 2+ years and I'm getting an iPad Pro Now to decide between 12 and 10 inch..

 

My 2012 MBP kicked the bucket. It dies halfway through boot up. I tried a bunch of troubleshooting ideas, and even tried to wipe it and load a new OS with no success. Sad day.

 

It might just need a new hard drive flex cable

 

10.5 inch is life - it's the best iPad I've ever own and I also have a 12.9 inch one too

 

I picked up the 12.9 on Monday along with the pencil. Holy. Shit.

What made the quick upgrade worth it for you? I'm already wishing I had more storage on the 9.7 so I'm weighing a refurb 128gb 9.7 (or more) vs the 64 10.5.

 

Is there going to be a new mac book or air coming out soon. My MBP is shitting the bed and I need a new laptop.

 

They released new MacBooks and MacBook Pros back in June.

Obviously can't speak for him, but I upgraded from the original iPad Air and it's basically replaced my laptop at this point. That iPad didn't get as much use as it should have for me, but with the new ones the screen is really nice, and the form factor isn't too crazy for travel and carrying it around to various places. I bought the Smart Keyboard as well and have enjoyed using it for typing e-mails, responding to texts, etc. Depends on your use case, but for general use (Twitter, E-Mail, Netflix) it's just about the best way to enjoy that sort of stuff. I've been using it with the iOS11 Public Beta and that's made it much easier for multitasking and honestly getting pretty close to a laptop experience, which has given even more reason to not use mine as much.

 

Being able to easily unzip and listen to the Turnover album in the files app with iOS 11 is sick, but now they just need to let me add it directly to my iCloud music library from the iPad itself.

 

You should file a radar for that so Apple can further help you be a criminal, Yates.

haha I know, I know. It would be nice for things like digital downloads from vinyl and whatnot.

i ended up just getting a higher storage of the 9.7 Pro. couldn't justify the added cost for less storage. that said, if anyone's in the market for a <1yo 32gb Pro, here's your chance.
