Threw it on my 9.7" iPad (not Pro) yesterday and there have been a few little things I've noticed but otherwise it's been pretty damn smooth. Go for it.

I hope so. It’s super laggy and slow right now and Siri is awful which makes using CarPlay and AirPods really annoying. I haven’t really noticed any actual bugs in the traditional sense (i.e. messed up text boxes, apps that won’t open, etc.) at all so far.

Ordered AirPods today - I know I am going to look like a tool when using them, but from what I've heard they are pretty great.

I don't think they look that weird, they look just like the EarPods without the cord. they're definitely catching on. I think maybe 1 out of 10 people I see in NYC on my commute are wearing them. it would probably be more if they didn't have a 6 week wait time.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Trying out High Sierra Public Beta. Automatic Reader View in chosen sites is great!

The iPhone turning 10 years old today makes me realize I'm really fucking old. Also, when my dad asked me "Did you hear Apple announced a touchscreen iPhone today?", my actual response was "What? Nobody is gonna want that shit. We need buttons to dial numbers."

Yea I used to think there was no way touch screens would hold. Well here we are and today I bought an Apple Pencil for an iPad I swore 5 years ago I'd never want.

Yup iPhone was a game changer. With all of this VR/AR stuff coming out expect something like iLens contacts in the near future. Has to be something they’re at least looking into

Airpods actually worked great in work this week. I just used the one at a time so i could hear if i was needed by anyone in office. Loving the simple life of it pausing my podcast when someone would come over to ask something.

If you work in a place where everyone isn't that bothered about technology, brace yourself for them asking where the wire is, or making a joke about their not being a wire. Have people never seen wireless earphones before?!

I am so frustrated with the iOS 11 beta - it is so much less usable than Apple betas I have used in the past. Slow/unresponsive and Siri is a joke. Siri consistently either just loads endlessly or can’t do what I need it to - today, even after resetting my phone, it wouldn’t play a song that is in my library because it “couldn’t find the music app” lol. It also completely destroys my battery, like MURDERS it. I understand that it’s a beta but I really hope these issues are cleared up soon. For me personally it is to unfucntional even for a public beta.

I don’t use Siri but I recommend putting your phone in low power mode. I leave mine on that always. Only issue I have is messages crashes when I try using the new message app tool bar.

I also get to upgrade to swift 4 and I’m just hoping it’s not as big a hassle as going from 2 to 3 was. I had just started learning swift when that happened and it broke a lot of my test projects

  18. I can't believe people install the betas on production/personal devices.

I know the risks. I’m a teacher and am home most of the time in the summer so I’m not screwed when my phone is giving me problems. If it weren’t summer I wouldn’t have it on my main device. I’m just venting haha.

first time I've downloaded a beta, glad I did. Some of the UI elements have changed so I need to do a few fixes for my app before the new iOS comes out. Most of it is due to xCode but the search bar is bigger and now my menu tab icon looks funky.

I assume you've reported the bugs you're experiencing?

I've installed the beta in the past. Specifically with the major music app redesign last year. It's always a good idea to not install it on a main device, or at least hold off until a beta three or four.

There's always going to be aggravating bugs about a beta copy of software, but that's just something you have to accept if you install it. They opened it up to the public to get some additional feedback on those very bugs, not so everyone could use a finished product.

I have the beta on my ipad 10.5 and it's fine. Haven't run into a bug yet. Would not in a million years put it on my phone though. I can deal with the beta aspect on a device I mostly use in the evenings for media consumption but yeah haven't run into any problems and I'm loving the multitasking. Having two tabs of safari open and twitter on the slide out. Bliss.
