What devices are you trying to plug into your iPhone?

You would need something that would go lighting to whatever input your using (USB-A, USB-C, etc).

ok good I've got all that covered. It's a midi controller. I wasn't sure if I needed something like a dongle for firmware or something to use peripherals with iOS. Can you just plug and play things like external keyboards etc with it?

It's possible. I'm not to sure though. You'd have to look at the documentation for the actual piece of equipment.

PS, I realise im almost using this thread as an earpods blog and im going in to way too much detail below... hey oh.

I am going to give the airpods a shot in work. I currently stream spotify (free sub) and pocket casts to my company issued VOIP one-earpiece. I hardly use the thing for calls. The plus point of this system is that anyone walking by just thinks i'm on a call. The downfall of current system is that it is not comfy, employer blocks most of the sites that host podcasts so I can only listen to a select few, most of my playlists are using apple music, and i end up not pausing podcasts as don't want to show my web browser incase i come across as a skiver.

New system is to just use one airpod at a time connected to my iphone. Expecting a bit of a slagging on it by the guys next to me initially, but im not fussed. I am more productive with music/podcasts on the go.

With the new Files app on iOS, is there a way to actually download files onto it from a PC/Mac? like when you use the File Sharing thing in iTunes to take stuff out of and into an Adobe app, Mixlr, or a music workstation app like Figure or Maschine? It would be cool if I could dump my PDF reader app and maybe even video player for this new built-in thing.

you guys installing the BETA on your main daily driver?

Nope. I don't use the iPad for much heavy work and I have my MacBook Pro in case something goes wrong. Wouldn't dare put it on my daily phone though

Not until at least three or four betas in. It's not bad, and it's fun to mess around with, but the bugs here and there start to annoy me.

Tempted to try out the beta on my iPad Pro. Couldn't be any worse then when I did the early Windows 10 Insider previews on my Surface Pro 3, right?

I say go for it. It's ran pretty smooth on my Mini 4 since last night, and I've played around with it a ton. Worst thing that's happened is a few Springboard relaunches. Besides that, there's just been expected lag at some points.
For the first public beta, I'm impressed.

It is glitchy and slow on my 6 but besides me just being easily frustrated and impatient it’s not unusable

Ah I'm hoping the new ios will work great on my 6. It's probably glitchy because it's a BETA right? It amazes me that they can still install the new one on the 5s.
