For real though I’m excited about the banner unlocks, felt like those were really lacking. So many look tacky and those look clean. I like that Prowler skin too

 

ugh this battle pass is quite... underwhelming.

 

I’m fine with it, gives them a chance to see what the community prefers so they can better prepare the next one to tailor to what people like less/more. I personally wasn’t expecting a whole lot just because you never know how big a game is gonna be, and why put that extra effort pre-launch into a battle pass when you can fine tune gameplay mechanics instead?

Excited for the future

 

What would you have preferred from the battlepass? (I ask because I've never paid attention to any put out by other games; most games I play don't have one.)

 

just cooler looking stuff esp for level 100.

maybe they just look dull on the website and the in game model will be dope. we'll see.
I'm also hoping for a big update tomorrow. apparently new thunderdome?

 

Yeah I'm a little underwhelmed with the rewards but I'm still excited to see what they have in store in terms of new weapons, characters, map changes, weapon balance, etc. And considering I've played this probably 35-40 hours they deserve 10 dollars from me.

 

It's pretty clear they had a "stock" battle pass prepared prior to launch and when the game blew up like it did, they realized pretty quickly that what they were going to release wouldn't be received well.

Not sure what changes or additions were made but it definitely is a little disappointing. Whoever they have working on skins is not great.

Their lack of communication shot them in the foot a bit here. They kept being vague and alluding to the fact that they were working on it as if they were improving upon what they originally planned. People got their hopes up.

The upside is that they've put enough coins in it so that you can get season 2 for free. They'll get a good sense of what the community wants moving forward, although it doesn't take much to improve upon BP level badges and legend season kill trackers.

 

Apex in general has a problem with its cosmetics, especially the character skins. Nothing is really that mind-blowing outside of a handful. A lot of the highest-tier weapon skins are really cool at least but that's it. I was hoping that the Battle Pass cosmetics would be cooler-looking but, realistically, this is still all content they designed prior to the game launching and prior to getting feedback on the launch cosmetics so it's not surprising they aren't great also. Hopefully moving forward they take the feedback and make cooler stuff.

Anyway, this does kind of puts to bed the argument that it was delayed because they were "taking their time on it." Really don't know what the hold-up was when this is what we got.

When they're all the game's got to chase, they gotta at least be good though

 

I play because it’s fun to play, that’s it. I don’t need an artificial sense of progression. No shots.

 

does anyone remember when I said the skins will be dumb because this game doesn’t work well for those kind of cosmetics

 

I saved up materials to buy the one Lifeline skin I liked and I'm good. Outside of wanting the Daemon one, which is just red instead of the blue one I use, I really don't like any of the skins in Apex. Wraith has a couple, but that's about it.

 

How do you get materials anyway? I have 900+ but I never seem to get more and I don’t remember getting these in the first place lol

 

I don't think it has anything to do with skins "working" in the game. Most of them are just ugly with bad designs.

 

I’ll probably get this pass just because it’s a clean transparent purchase for me to support

 

You get materials from Apex packs earned from leveling up.

 

Yeah their artists really dropped the ball on cosmetics. It’s a real shame.

Correct, from what I've seen. Just random like any other items in the packs.

Wish they weren't so stingy with the packs. I only earn 1 every five levels and then soon it won't be any at all.

 

no, there's 4 tiers of materials, and each pack has a chance of dropping one as one of the 3 faces of the tick.
I get one of them every 2 or 3 packs.
