This is such BS. Don't sit there and act like I'm the problem the league has had a lack of interest and hasn't been the same lately. You've been doing your best to stir the pot since you've joined with people who don't directly relate to you or have the same level of attentiveness at all times.

I'm one of the original members who have been involved with every year of our league. Does it tend to fizzle out for some members including myself after the first few seasons? Yes. We should be trying to figure out why people are losing interest and leaving, as opposed to pushing those out who want to be a part of bringing it back to how it was.

 

So why have people lost interest? It's the same old shitty Madden, so for most people it probably comes down to life taking over and Madden falling down the list of priorities. If that is the case you aren't going to be able to fix that.

 

I wish I could say this Madden is going to be new and the CFM is going to be amazing, but indications are it is going to be very similar to last year because they upgraded to a new engine and didn't focus on things like CFM.

 

I don't get why they haven't revamped CFM yet. I understand the hype and money grabbing MUT brings to the table, but I mean come on.

 

No offense at all, but this seems incredible closed-minded to me. Of course the main reason for people leaving is a lack of interest for whatever reason. That’s not what I’m arguing.

Say 4-5 people leaving the league because life takes over - fine. What the means is essentially more CPU games for users, less interactions on forums, and less fun for the majority of personalities we have in this league.

Instead of having CPU teams, we need a plan of action in case people leave to have a constant replenishment. This is what we can avoid. You can never avoid people’s lives taking over, but you can avoid the next level of people who are quitting because of those initial league members who couldn’t continue. This is what we can brainstorm and fix as opposed to throwing our hands up.

 

I'm saying you're part of the problem. And I'm not stirring the pot, I'm just calling it like we all see it. People are losing interest because they constantly have to track down you and believeland because you two are too busy jerking off over the Browns, Indians or whatever other sorry sack of shit team you're delusional about that month. So why don't you figure it your shit and when you're ready to make time for a 45 minute game once every 3 days then get back to us.

So when I left the league last year, this is why I left.

My M-F consisted of a 4AM wakeup, train ride into downtown Seattle for work at 5:15AM. Work from 6AM-4:00 (or later). Train ride home, get home around 5PM (or later). Eat dinner and play with my kid until he goes to bed at 8PM. Then I usually have between 8-10PM or so because you see what is waiting for me the next day? A 4AM wakeup call to do it all over again.

At any rate, I work from home three days a week now so my long days in the office and my shit commute is much less of a factor as it was this time last year.

 

As someone who was the main recruiter for the league last year along with Dome, I can tell you it is not easy finding good replacements in October or later. I'd rather find people in the beginning that are willing to stick with the league even if 4 or 5 teams drop without needing on demand replacements.

It will be very easy to find people in August/September. You are going to get the normal Reddit users after that who will come in play a game or two, either break rules or lose and then you won't hear from them ever again. Or you get the new people that just got the game, and they don't know what they are doing and quit. It's very rare to find a good Madden CFM owner after Sept. imo.

 

As much as this response makes my blood boil, it’s also the part of this league I can’t get out of some shitty league on Slack.

I miss the rivalries where I’d want to throw my controller watching you go 84 yards with a 61 overall receiver you signed because he had 96 speed then proceeding you to talk shit to me on here.

It’s something that a lot of people like myself do need to work on I admit, so I hear that point. I just think it’s crazy to consider holding people out who really love being here.

I say we all rank the teams we want 1-3 and if multiple people want the same team at 1 then we play for it.
