So if the majority wants to keep it on All-Madden, then that is fine. However, what I will say is up until the last two years, this league has always been played on All-Pro difficulty. It wasn't until recently that this changed to All-Madden.

It's like I said, this is no longer a league where we have to keep a waiting list of people wanting to join so if someone got frustrated and quit, we could just easily slot someone else into their team and keep the gravy train rolling along.

We currently have 22 teams and out of those 22 teams, 6 of those have yet to even participate in the league thread and to really confirm they are in this thing which includes the ENTIRE AFC South division.

If this league loses members without adding some, everybody is going to have 7-8 CPU games and then I think interest will start to further wane and that could progress to an early death of this league and I want to avoid that.

Bottom line is, a relatively high number of teams have been losing to the CPU over the last few years but then they'd be able to turn it around and beat a user far better than they are. For competitive balance, I just don't think anybody should be losing to the CPU thus creating higher competition with the user-user base.

Again, with that, I will set it to whatever the league wants but that is my reasoning behind dropping it down one notch.

 

Sounds good to me - fair enough. Let's try it out and see what happens. If user-user games become wonkier because of that it can always be adjusted later on

Exactly...we can fine tune it later, as well as you stated. This league used to have a very cutthroat mentality when we had guys waiting to join the league because we were full. Unfortunately, we are not that league anymore as many have left due to their life circumstances and finding new members to take their place (and turn out to be a good replacement) is something that has proven much more difficult than I anticipated.

I think with where this league is at now, the cutthroat mentality has to take a backseat because in my opinion, the more users we lose and the more CPU teams we end up---is what will ultimately bed this league.

 

If the CPU is diffuclt to these dudes, take off the restrictions. Let me bust their ass as much as I want. That will keep my interest even against the CPU. In the same mentality, let the Big Dog off his leash.

I'd just rather have 22 league members over 15 street hardened video gamers, is all I'm saying.

 

It's a waste until game comes out... Don't waste your time it cuts you off after a little while until full game is out

You also lose good Madden players over making it too easy against the CPU as well. I have no interest in hitting a cap and then being forced to just run the ball and drain clock in the second half. If you want to have a more relaxed league, spam rules should be loosened. Don't have to go to the extreme of not having any, but at least let some of us fuckers play a little. I don't even play CPU games much anymore because it's 10 minutes of fun and 30 minutes of dragging my nails against a chalkboard.

 

we could set it to all madden then lower the CPU sliders. Maybe this year the sliders arent shit

 

I think the spam stat caps are fine where they are.

 

I agree with adjusting the sliders, whether it be nerfing the All-Madden Sliders or boosting All-Pro sliders.

 

I actually did loosen them last night, what you see on the front page now allows for more than they did last night.

What I will say is that I don't recall anybody ever leaving the league because the CPU was too easy (correct me if I am wrong)

However, I do remember numerous counts of people bitching about the CPU difficulty and stating that they just were going to leave their future games up to the sim gods and those who did choose to keep playing would end up having 5-10 restarts on a CPU game.

Listen, I made the change for those specific reasons but if the league wants All-Madden, I am more than okay with it.

 

i think theres no harm in trying out all pro for a season then switching if its an issue.

 

ATL is in the NFC anyway so hell have tons of user games.
