Still want to know why “2023” was taken off of Boom.Done and given to the other band when it’s such a better song slowed down.

Time is moving too fast. But yeah, this is why I still keep all my digital collection on hand.. Still have Boom. Done digitally with the original song.. Also nice that its on the vinyl.

 

I really still want to find the album on vinyl available in my country somehow, but I always try not to spend too much and I'd like it to be with 2022 on it, is it still available at all? or is it only on the first round of pressings?

Did we ever find out why 2022 was taken off? Like, why can't the same song be on two different records? I can't imagine it being a rights thing. Just Anthony's personal preference?

 

I remember seeing him comment somewhere when it first got removed saying “I’ll let you know some day.” The whole thing is bizarre for sure. LS Dunes version is fine but the boom version truly struck me.

 

I think he had the version he had on Boom. Done as a demo, but had given it to LSD as a song idea... Jumped the gun with Boom. Done and then he liked the final version with LSD better and decided to keep it as that bands song, technically.

 

He has already stated on his ig that it was just because he felt with Tucker's take on the song for Dunes it felt more victorious, he didn't really want to keep the other version later on as it was more of a downer -- or at least that's what he commented on that more or less. Maybe to sum it up with what he had mentioned earlier that there were some friends/relatives of his that felt the song was too heavy to listen to (he still claimed it's one of his favorites then, but it was possibly before they had a different use for it). It's still pretty weird and ambiguous to me, a shame it's harder to get that version now, albeit, it's his choice in the end

$100 for this without including the ticket seems pretty absurd

 

I never understood the ticketless VIP thing. Like can you just attend the VIP then leave or do you still need the ticket for the VIP? If it’s the latter, why the hell are they not sold together?

 

you can't sell them together because ticketmaster sells the tickets and VIP upgrades are from him directly.

 

$100 for a private 3-song set with photo and meditation is absolutely NOT absurd in any world.

Definitely better this way. In a perfect world you would get tickets and VIP both from Anthony so he gets 100% of the revenue, but as we all know, livenation/ticketmaster has a lock on most venues, so he has to go through them. At least this way he gets 100% of the VIP money on top of the standard cut of tickets from venue. There's a reason so many artists do these VIP things now, it's one revenue stream that they don;t get completely fucked on

 

Yeah I guess I never really considered all of that because back in my day VIP came with tickets and Ticketmaster didn’t completely dominate the concert world like they do now. But it’s stupidly obvious now that you’ve explained it to me. Lol

With that said, Circa charged $100 for their VIP events, which were sold together with the ticket, back during the Descensus and Amulet eras (as well as the anniversary tours) and the perks were largely the same: three-song acoustic set and a photo opportunity/meet and greet
