Don’t know if this happened to anyone else, but Boom Done was apparently taken down from Apple Music and reuploaded without 2022. Did that happen to anyone else and did that happen on Spotify as well?

Spotify still has 2022 in the US.

The change is reflected on his bandcamp as well

He said in an interview on the Peer Pleasure Podcast that there are people who heard that song (prior to the album’s release) and asked him not to play it because of how heavy and sad the subject material was. Perhaps he came to agree and decided to remove the song from streaming services and future purchases on bandcamp

Is there any word on the vinyl pressings at this point? I wonder if it made it on?

I got my copy the day before the album came out. Didn’t actually look to see if it was on the tracklist or not

Edit: Just checked and it is on the vinyl pressing. Obviously, the song is still out there in mp3 format somewhere, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be available to purchase or download accessibly anymore

While I completely respect his artistic choices and he totally should remove or add to anything he wants, this is exactly why I still haven't converted to streaming form digital files

They start talking about I Don’t Want To Die Tonight at 1:07:50 and then go right into 2022 shortly after that at 1:09:30.

He mentions that there is a full band version of it that is going to be released later this year, but went on to mention how people have asked him not to play it because of the content in the song. Mind you, the episode of the podcast came out before the album was released so I’d imagine the only people who had heard it were those who worked on it, people close to him, and anyone who got an advance to review.

I’m interested to see if it was taken down perhaps in favor of the full band version potentially later to come or if he decided that he doesn’t want the song on there because of how dark it is.

One of the best songs on the album. His decision to make, but that stinks.

It’s still on Spotify. Maybe just an Apple Music issue?

I was able to buy the mp3 for 2022 on a random website. Sucks he removed it, but I get it. I just personally relate to the song a lot and since I heard the record first with 2022 on it, it was weird not hearing it anymore.

Odd decision. Just means I'll have to listen on my iTunes now instead of streaming.

Thanks, I'm trying them out now and they sound really good! Is this the band that we had some live videos posted in here a while ago? They played a version of I Don't Dance I think.

Same here! First time glad to be behind with something in this country, cause I still have 2022 on Spotify, though I'd like to find a download as a back-up, love this song. Can't say there's anything to tell about decisions like that one, easy to see somebody could be let down by the content of the lyrics, I mean it's not too graphic, but for the person the song is about - it could sting.

I would imagine it was people close to Green who commented to him about it, especially considering it’s about the night he overdosed and was clinically pronounced dead for several minutes.

I don’t blame him if he ultimately decided to remove it from the album. It was obviously written before 2022 and his recent stay in rehab. Yeah, it’s not a super graphic song, but it is noticeably very dark.

Exactly, I think it could be really odd and sad to the person who found him then. Well, and here's to hoping people don't feel that way about themselves as well ;(

And I say this as someone who likes the song and I don’t have an issue with people continuing to listen to it as part of the album. I say all this as someone just giving my best educated guess why it’s been taken down on some platforms.

I have nothing but empathy for him. I think he’s in a very raw and vulnerable place right now. I had never seen him so grateful, vulnerable, and emotional than I did last weekend for the record release show in his hometown. It was a really special night and that’s a small part of the reason why I get the feeling that he’s making a decision to not be so bleak on an album he has touted as the most honest and reflective he’s written ever.

I don't wanna take away from the valuable discussion, so just on the side I'd like to let it be known I'll appreciate anybody sending me the link to the 2022 mp3, I still have it on Spotify & I'm only waiting to snag the vinyl copy, but I'm not sure if the download code will have it then if it's not on bandcamp anymore.
