An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Shang Chi is one of my favourite Marvel movies. incredible performance from Leung as a nuanced and compelling villain, Simu Liu is a great lead, the action is well choreographed and doesn't get dull, the movie in general is very nicely directed and pleasant to look at which is more than you can say for a lot of Phase 4. plus it has Michelle Yeoh! and there's a big dragon that does stuff! what more could you possibly want

This year I’ve watched Devotion, this, and just saw Creed today. All meh films, but he sure does shine in each one. Huge fan.

This was fine, which is something I've said about every Marvel film since Endgame except for No Way Home.

This was pretty goofy without explanation, reason or justification. I really didn't understand all the different character models (brocoli person above^) and the weird arm slime tubes for the ship, and the blob obsessed with antman having holes despite all his buddies having holes, and Bill Murrays cameo and Murdoc looked as bad as advertised (though his character was decently written for a giant psycho head), and I think I'll stop here.

For the good, Kang stole the scene frequently, and it seems it'll be an important stepping stone for the next big bad, but as a standalone marvel movie, i didn't really enjoy it. It also felt long, like longer than avatar 2 which was actually long.

Glad Loki is coming back tho and that the story will continue there. That might be my favorite marvel series so far, though i'm hardly current.

Agreed with all the shang chi love. Now THAT was a fantastic standalone, and Marvel firing on all cylinders. I havent heard anyone say they didnt love that one, maybe just poor release timing is to blame for it not being a bigger financial or cultural smash.

We saw the broccoli alien, but we never found out why the broccoli alien. Just like how Star Wars never explained all the different aliens in the cantina, and that's why sci-fi franchises are bullshit. [/sarcasm]

Ok. Phrased differently, i didnt like the art direction or creative choices on the creature designs, and found none of it meshed for me, or was even visually enjoyable on that basic level. It felt zany and whacky, just because they wanted it to be, and not because of any story or environmental reasons. I just... didnt enjoy it. Is that okay or do you want to pick on my opinion some more?

I don't accept your post because you spelled it "whacky". Insta-fail in my book.

lol this was pretty brutal... Overall the script just had so many mind numbing decisions. The first hour felt like an eternity with the constant cutaways right after Janet would say something ominous but couldn't tell anyone else why she was so worried.

A bunch of ants stampeding Kang after he was literally vaporizing a bunch of people but conveniently not our heroes was so stupid. Majors did absolutely everything he could but the writing for him was awful. There was zero sense of dread developed with how quickly he was undermined. This dude potentially killed a Thor variant but gets taken down in the most brain dead turn of events in this movie?

Oh also Cassie's hologram speech made me want to crawl out of my skin

I'll give GotG 3 benefit of the doubt but I'm prob skipping all other upcoming Marvel movies in the theaters.

I like how it says "what went wrong?" like it isn't painfully obvious. It was an overglorified CGI clusterfuck that cost $300 million dollars total and ended up being middle of the road at best. It was exhausting. It was such a nothing movie.

It had no weight. Kang is defeated by ants. CGI gobbley junk was non stop. Cut 30 minutes of the quantum really and give us 30 minutes before they go in, not just 5 minutes.

  22. This is all extra funny to me because as an MCU hater, I thought this was mostly okay lmao

  24. I tend to like the Marvel movies that are goofier/don't take themselves too seriously. That being said, I liked this more than Love & Thunder because there was less of that overbearing quirkiness. I didn't love it or anything, but had a good enough time with it. Maybe it helps that my expectations are low
