I’m sure this was mentioned. Or people noticed it. But I love the shot near the end, I believe in the interrogation room, and the water on the side of the glass looks like 2 cells, forming one. Pretty neat.

Ex Machina isn't related to this film at all. It's just an Alex Garland directed movie. Although, it's a pretty good film so I would recommend watching it for the enjoyment anyway.

Annihilation is going on Netflix UK on March 12th also since we are not getting a theatrical run.

You definitely need to experience this in theaters if you have the chance. But yes, it will be available on Netflix in the UK and Australia I think beginning on Friday.

    EDIT: what everyone else said.

quite possibly the worst theater going experience i’ve ever had for one of my favorite movies in recent memory. fucking hell that was obnoxious. glad i saw it in a theater though and excited to watch it at home next week.

sat next to this obnoxious older woman in my showing. just annoyingly questioned everything the whole time and "oooh'd" and "ahhh'd" at every slightly scary or bloody scene

    other than that great time

i have just so many questions lol

had 12-15 year olds behind us clearly not even watching and just laughing the whole time. and people next to us like, just loudly talking? cool to see someone go to their first movie ever, i guess.

I think this is the kind of movie you really have to know what youre getting into before you go in, you cant go in blind, you almost have to know what the story is about. Knowing at least whats going on beforehand helps you pay attention more to little things on the first viewing.

The first time i saw this preview during star wars i thought it looked like the biggest piece of shit but i loved it today.

Not me, I prefer going into movies knowing very little. Prior to seeing this, all I knew was Natalie Portman battling creatures in the woods and it was directed by the guy behind Ex Machina.

Yea I had no idea what I was getting into besides the positive reaction on this website. I loved it but some moments are ... a lot.. for the casual movie-goer

Walking out of the theater I wasn't sure how I felt about it. It's such an intense experience that I couldn’t really assign it a typical like/dislike type of feeling. But the more I think about this, the more I like it. It might be the scariest movie I've seen in theaters. The isolation of it all really fucked me up. And yea, the bear scene is definitely going to give me a nightmare tonight. Not looking forward to that.

Seriously, I think being eaten alive would be the worst way possible to die and it's not even close. The idea that the thing that is killing you is somehow absorbing that terror and using it to its advantage is the worst thing imaginable to me.

i will also throw my hat into the ring saying i had no real idea of what the movie was about. Natalie Portman, guy who made Ex-Machina, and the 'upside down dome world'. thats all i knew.
