Trying to hype myself up for AX, get back into anime after watching American TV almost exclusively for a few years there. Finally getting around to AoT S2, about halfway through. I figured out I left off on Ch. 56, so I have a pretty good idea where this season will end. Even so, it's such a blast to watch. Hopefully I'll be able to watch Mushishi S2 and Digimon Adventure Tri (Maybe? Not sure if I should wait until they're all out--it looks like that won't be for a while) before Day One. I guess those aren't exactly as popular as One Punch Man or Re:Zero, but they've been on the backburner for so long. Also, it's my first AX, and my first convention in general. Not really sure what to expect, or what to do when I get there. Maybe just look at cool cosplays, go window shopping? Shrug.

Line to get badges yesterday was ridiculous. 4 hours!

 

Went to two panels. How Fandom Saved My Life, on how community helps people cope with depression, anxiety, and trauma, gave me all the feels. Rurouni Kenshin music, its eastern/western influences and its implications on gender, was really interesting.

Went to the Eva 3.33 screening. I stand by what I said, this is the best of the Rebuilds.

Exhibition Hall and Artist Alley are humongous! I've spent most of my time in Artist Alley, gotten a few buttons and a keychain. A lot of the prints are so nice, but I don't know what I'd do with them! Entertainment Hall is great as well, but not because it's the game room--I took a lot of pictures of people's cosplays while they were waiting in line to use the stages.

Yesterday I mostly just wandered about taking so many pictures of cosplays. Definitely going for the older, probably less recognized ones, because I am a dinosaur. The pics I have showing off the most skin have turned out to be guys (e.g. Simon and Kamina [separately] from Gurren Lagann) haha.

Other good finds were Envy and Lust (separately) from FMA, Yona from Akatsuki no Yona, Ryuko and Satsuki Kill La Kill, Mikasa and Eren (Titan form!) from Attack on Titan, Chihiro and Haku from Spirited Away.

Got some from American stuff, too, like Korra from Legend of Korra, Pyrrha from RWBY, The Bride from Kill Bill, Kim and Ron from Kim Possible, Rapunzel and Mother Gothel from Tangled, Hook and Emma from Once Upon a Time. There was a good white Raven (Teen Titans) I didn't manage to get a picture of.

I think I've gotten more excited about cosplays from video games. Elizabeth (x2) and Booker (with a Skyhook) from Bioshock Infinite (all separately)! Lilith (I wish I'd gotten a picture!) and Maya and Moxxi (this time I did get a picture!) from Borderlands! Max and Chloe from Life is Strange! Kairi and Roxas from Kingdom Hearts! Rinoa and Sefie from FFVIII! Lightning from XIII!

I was able to snag a pic of a Combat Medic Mercy and Imp Mercy who had just met randomly and were nerding out over each other's Cosplays, so that was nice. Most of them were Witch Mercy, though.

There are so many 2B wandering about--even on the days there wasn't a gathering. Even my friend cosplayed as her. Maybe I should get Nier at some point.

One more day! My feet are killing me.

finally starting my hero academia for reals this time

 

Did anyone catch the first episode of Welcome to the Ballroom last night on Twitch?

 

I started watching Eccentric Family 2 a few days ago. So far it's just as great as the first season. And the ED is a jam.

 

I really enjoy all the characters so far in my hero academia.

All Might sounds exactly like Crimson Chin which is scary.

 

Been pounding through My Hero Academia. I am so in love with this show

 

As a big fan of the manga I really gotta get around to the MHA anime.

 

I'm a few episodes from finishing the first season and I only started last night. It's so good.

 

I'm a few episodes into Knights Of Sidonia and it's really cool in a lot of ways. I like it.

 

Sometimes Mushishi just wants to be all weird and creepy and I'm just like okay cool you do you boo, but when it's sad and beautiful I cry like a freaking fountain. It's a hard show to marathon because any time there's an episode like that I want it to linger with me for a while before watching the next one. Just finished s2e07

 

so after finishing my hero academia season 1, i started watching full metal alchimest brotherhood (never seen it or the original anime). Pretty blown away already only being like 7 episodes in lol. Can't wait to see where this series goes.
