hey, I like your posts and am not trying to be rude but many rely on this game for a sense of normalcy and routine right now and I don’t think it’s unreasonable for people to be disappointed when they were looking forward to catching new fish for April and get an egg they don’t want every other line they cast

I know it’s just a game, but for a lot of people this has been a tether to stability in a very weird time. It’s okay for people to be disappointed and I just don’t think it’s entirely considerate to mock them for it, especially when taking mental health into account as this game is undoubtedly helping a lot of people with not much else to look forward to

My girlfriend is having a rough time with isolation and this game has been a saving grace. All she wanted was to catch a turtle and now, after a couple hundred eggs, she doesn’t feel like playing. Everybody’s different but I just don’t think it’s worth discounting the experience of others!

 

If your villager is sick, I think you just give them medicine.

Otherwise, you have a shovel.

 

I honestly wasn’t considering how a lighthearted bit would get twisted into me discounting how others feel about the update. I spend 98% of my time on this forum posting in a thread where we all shit post and take the piss and don’t really ever mean anything by it, and that was the case here. I should’ve known my audience better.

I know I’m overreacting, but like many out there, I likely have more pent up stress from all of what’s going on and it rubbed me the wrong way to be addressed like I was.

I appreciate you trying to make things clearer though.

Also best way to pick your neighbors is to probably put a plot down and go to a random yourself same day? I had the plot down for a day and the computer picked them randomly.

 

Wondering this as well? I’ve been looking for villagers and can’t find any at other islands or my campsite, so I buy a plot and it’s filled almost immediately by a random.

 

I haven’t seen a villager on any of the random islands after I saw the initial 3

 

first plot I put down I went to an island right after and had them move in, second plot I put down I think I did just leave it empty for a day and the computer filled it. So I’m thinking I’m just gonna have to plot then immediately go to islands to look.

 

My third plot is still empty a day later! But I’m not risking it and I’m going to an island in a bit to find a villager.

 

The first three are villagers you get from going to islands. After that, you build a plot and then you may find them on islands, invite them from your campsite or they will appear randomly.

 

Just unlocked terraforming this morning. I don't like this God feeling I'm feeling.
