Lyrically I’m just so, so curious by what will happen. Like are we going to get something of significance with meaning behind it ... or “18 and a wicker basket” & “get out dem boots and walk out the miracle mile” ?

Chasing Shadows is literally a mad-lib thrown together. If you really just take each line by line slowly ... it’s a ride.

my favourite AVA lyrics are when he stops pretending anything he writes makes sense and just leans into the imagistic stream-of-thought stuff. really like Tunnels, Chasing Shadows, Diary for that reason. I have no further way of justifying it lol

 

I usually don’t pay much attention to lyrics when I listen to music. But when a really bad or WTF line pops up, it really sticks out to me. A lot of AVA songs have made me go “uhhhhh?”

 

Sounds like a Green Day song title.

If this song is literally just bait for us to see his “announcement” about a separate project ... then yep, that’s Tom for ya! Haven’t seen that trick used before!!

 

It makes sense if this is the Strange Times music album that he says has a feature film attached to it.

I wouldn't be annoyed if this was music going with one of his movies/shows/whatever. He said AVA was recording music for it anyways.
Hopefully we get the tour announcement with whatever else tomorrow. Haven’t cared for any AVA since I-Empire, but would be nice to see him in a smaller venue

 

There is an actual album and an actual tour.

 

The official announcement is 4/30, which is Tuesday, aka not tomorrow (but fortunately, just a short 24 hours after)
