Tom just posted a photo on Instagram of AVA's last show, which was 7 years ago. Wow! I didn't realize it had been THAT long.

I last saw them live opening for Weezer in 2008. I'm excited for their comeback.

Welp ... my incredibly negative attitude towards a tour or FULL album ever happening is not looking too good. Which is good, I want to be wrong.

I just want him to be into this for real. I want it to feel like a real album, a real album cycle, and a real tour with the purpose of playing music. I don’t want this to end up being something to just promote his next project and slap together a 5 song EP.

 

hahaha same. my hype is strong. This roll out seems well done which makes me think there's an actual team behind him here

 

I am so darn eager for new music and a new tour. I've missed seeing ol' Tommy Boy up on stage.

 

Sounds like they're right about to make an announcement based on that last sentence. (This was a BandsInTown message)

 

I don't think it will happen, but man, if we get a new song tomorrow that'd be amazing.

 

Now THIS would shock me. No way Tom just releases a song all willy nilly without at least 1-3 months hyping up the release of a song.

 

First you gotta say you can't talk about what you're doing. Then you announce you're announcing something "soon". Then you say nothing for 5 weeks but post a couple of pics of you on a motorbike. Then you say big announcement coming tomorrow. Then....AND ONLY THEN...you drop a 15 second clip of some synth beeps and go back to meeting former CIA agents in the woods and release an Everything's Magic acoustic mp3 for 27 dollars with a LOVE hat.

 

Rumor has it the announcement is coming April 30th.
