Started the book this morning. Love it already. He's got a real authorial voice, which isn't always the case with musicians writing memoirs.

Only 45 pages in (I’m a pretty slow ready, which I’m pretty embarrassed about) but I’m really enjoying it as well. My show is next Monday and I’m planning on finishing it before then.

I just finished "Three Pianos" and that was a wonderful book. This one was a really good read and it shined some light on what would become beloved songs and it definitely put some things he and I talked about back in 2019 into perspective.

Well, i finished the book before the show tomorrow, but sadly my husband tested positive for Covid yesterday. Little stressed as he has a heart condition, so it’s a bit scary. He’s feeling okay so far, thankfully, and may be getting the antibody treatment tomorrow.
I have tested negative so far, and am wearing a mask at pretty much all times at this point. Of course, I’ll need to miss the show tomorrow, which is a huge bummer. A friend bought us VIP and I was being SO careful because I really wanted to see this.
Priorities, obviously, are making sure hubby is okay.

Anyway. Sorry for the long post. We are keeping this VERY quiet, so i just needed to have somewhere to post about it.

Zac Clark (used to play with Andrew and is opening the shows on this tour) just left me a voice memo wishing my husband and I a quick recovery and I’m :verysad:

Anyone know what time he’s been going on at these shows? My show starts at 6 which seems early

I called the venue and asked for set times and they told me. My show was later though

Just started Three Pianos today right after finishing The Storyteller by Dave Grohl and I'm absolutely loving how influenced both Andrew and Dave were by childhood memories of Chicago. Really enjoying the book so far and hoping to finish it over the weekend.

  14. Anyone check out the Dear Jack show last night? Such a great setlist and I really love all the storytelling he's doing on this tour. The three-piece band with the violinist also puts a bit of a fresh spin on the songs and I thought it worked really well.

neither Andrew or Taylor invented 10-minute songs, but I appreciate the crossover between the two of them so I'm into it

Last night it was roughly 7:30-8:00 is for Zac Clark, 8:10-8:45 for Annika Bennet, and Andrew McMahon played 9:00-10:45ish. That's a rough estimate, but that's pretty much what it was in Raleigh give or take a few minutes. It was an incredible show!

I was there! That's why I was asking (albeit a little late). We needed to get dinner before and wanted to make sure we weren't too late. We missed Zac but saw about half of Annika's set and then, yes, Andrew was amazing.

Still can't believe he busted out "Drunk Girl".

Drunk Girl was definitely a highlight...it was super cool that someone just shouted it out and he started playing it. You could tell how off script it was because his band just sat there watching him kind of not knowing what to do. Great night...every time I see him I am just completely blown away. Was a bit of a relief to hear him say that he would be touring until he dies :crylaugh:
