I think every track on here is an improvement over the original except maybe Lost In Stereo. The shouts on the new version are kind of grating

So Wrong, It's Right carries a lot more emotional/nostalgic weight for me than Nothing Personal, but I thought this was a really cool idea and these re-records sound really, really great. It's crazy to hear how much better Alex's voice has gotten.

5 tracks in on this and my takeaways are:

    - These songs sound slower and it's a good thing. I never would have considered that some of the originals were rushing but Weightless and Stella actually sound better slowed down a bit.
    - Everything is way more polished, they sound very tight and professional compared to the young and scrappy sound of the original
    - Really delivers on the intention of giving us representations of how they play these songs live
    - Agree about Lost in Stereo criticism, it's a strange change with the growled vocals

I wish they had thrown in a few extra songs as bonus tracks, like Dear Maria or Coffeeshop. I know it's a tribute to Nothing Personal but those tracks sit in the same zone/era for me.

I alwasy felt the same way about SWIR and honestly thought that was their bigger album

Fun listen, but I probably won't be returning to most of this very often, still cool they did it

Too Much sounds like Alex doing a JoBros impression. Walls was really good.

This took Hello Brooklyn from a song I couldn't stand to one I could at least kind of vibe with, which might be the biggest achievement they could've hoped for with this

I loved in the interview, Alex was like "yeah, I probably wouldn't chant city names if we made the song now"

We reach for the longest shadow

this is my first time listening to ATL in a long time, and I just realized that State Champs whole deal is "ATL's A Party Song is awesome, isn't it?"

That might be the most filler moment in all of ATL's discography

This made me realise how good this album is. I honestly haven't listened to it in like 3/4 years but every song is fun.

I happened to catch the livestream yesterday and actually really enjoyed this, I'll need to listen to just the album part at some point.

Didn't even know this was a thing going on, gonna go through it. Nothing Personal has always been my favorite from them so this is super cool.

I threw this on today and I couldn’t believe how much Alex’s voice had grown. Nothing Personal whilst I have a lot of nostalgia attached to it probably ranks lower now in their discography for me. I think I’ve outgrown a lot of the songs but I’ll always love Weightless. Was fresh hearing ATL’s take today. Not sure I rated the back up vocals though especially in Lost In Stereo.

did anyone ever try the ATL wine? I’m curious

  19. I've actually never listened to the original version of Nothing Personal, but I really like this. A lot of the tracks just make me think, "Wow, Alex's voice is really fucking good."

Really love this release. It’s like the live albums, which I also love, but without the banter between songs, which is a plus imo

I love that it’s more “rocky” and really shows off how good of a singer Alex is
