Especially with how heavily folk-influenced he’s gotten with his solo material, it’s gonna be such a huge wave of nostalgia and Deja vu when Dallas croons into my ear over a heavier riff. Exciting.

I'd offer up Daryl Palumbo, Bert McCracken and Nate Barcalow for conversation, but I do agree that he is the best. He's the only one to do it full time (of the ones I mentioned at least).

 

I am also a big fan of the gruff style George started doing on OC/YC and Dog's Blood. I remember being nervous about it prior to the release of OC/YC, but I actually really liked it from the get go. It adds another weapon to the bands vocal arsenal and I don't think songs like "The Northern" work quite as well without it.
