Whoa even the harder experimentation on this thing feels seamless.

Made it backward up through DSU yesterday. Liked all the albums quite a bit and appreciated how unique each one was from the next. Also interesting seeing how his sound has developed while still maintaining a lofi vibe. Current ranking feels like:

    Rocket
    God Save the Animals
    House of Sugar
    Beach Music
    DSU

Excited to listen to the rest this weekend hopefully

This is great as expected. Really love how lush this album is. Digging all the piano.

i can't wait to see him in november. some of these songs are going to sound fucking insane. always love how his live performances of certain tracks deviate from the recorded versions

  8. Would kill to see "Immunity" live. And "Forgive" would be so cathartic

the sequencing actually isn’t that different than House of Sugar here. The middle section is definitely the experimental chunk.

Man after my second listen yeah this might be AOTY material

This album is so good. Any recommendations for songs/albums similar to Runner or Cross the Sea?

This could potentially top House of Sugar for me. This album's consistency is on another level.

  20. Fully obsessed with "Immunity" lol I never thought "emo-rap" but now I can't unhear it. But he really did that. It's like the flipside of "Sportstar," which would also be in my top 10.

Also really glad "Forgive" sounds just like the live version

  22. Enjoy! They're all favorites of mine in the same vein. Alex produced "Savage Good Boy," and that whole album is very good.

  25. I’ve honestly never been super into Alex G, but I’m on run 4 through this record now and it’s weirdly doing it for me. Some of the hyperpop leanings are a little more tough to get into, but I really can’t deny his ability to make weird sound natural. S.D.O.S. is so cool. I gotta revisit his discography soon

Also very nice review @Aaron Mook
