Let it be known vein.fm and Momentum jumped some teenagers and a woman at the show in New Mexico last night. One of the guys from Momentum pulled a pistol. If you want sources key word search “Vein.fm” on Twitter. Plenty of people I know were there and can account for it. Apparently it started because Vein was damaging equipment from the venue. Some really shitty dudes.

    On my radar this week:

    10 Years: Deconstructed
    As I May: Karu
Band Of Horses: Things Are Great
    Belmont: Aftermath
Bob Moses: The Silence In Between
    Flaw: Revival
Marillion: An Hour Before It's Dark
Peach Pit: From 2 To 3
    Stereophonics: Oochya!

I was also going to check out Vein.fm, but I'm now rethinking that decision.

Still mourning the loss of my go-to resource for album release dates and I've yet to find a truly solid substitute. I've been given some leads, but the problem is most places only focus on their particular scene and aren't always very thorough about it either.

I think the reason why FunkySouls was so good is because the site was primarily a forum and I'm almost certain their release calendar was a collaborative effort, so they were able to cover a wide variety of ground fairly accurately. Nobody I've seen either does it that way, goes much beyond the mainstream, or goes beyond their particular scene.

How am I supposed to find out about post-grunge and alt-metal bands in other countries? Answer: I can't. And I organize my playlists by month and year, so knowing release dates is kind of vital to how my whole system works.

This is an example of what I mean. This is one of FunkySouls' pages cached by Wayback Machine.

Cheers for the heads up on Eva Under Fire - updated the list. Machine Gun Kelly's is a 3-track EP though called 'Lockdown Sessions'.

For AGO, they were in Chicago without a show to play due to covid so instead of sitting around the hotel they went to Electrical Audio (Steve Albini's studio) and recorded these. It's 2 NB tracks, 2 NLAQ tracks, and one unreleased song ("Vacancy")

Annie Jump Cannon needs more love. It's like Oso Oso meets The Sidekicks:

Also really loving El Ten Eleven - groovy instrumental rock:

supernowhere's album is vibey, but dark, mathy emo:

And Beachheads offer up surfy, summery power pop from members of Kvelertak:

Not to curb your enthusiasm, but it's a covers album. I guess after they got called out for plagiarism on their last album, they decided they'd be better off being up front with it.
