Wow Less by the band Deathcrash is so good. Emo/post rock. A bit like Godspeed crossed with mineral and then loads of other stuff as well. Highly recommended

 

M83 is the big one for me today. I’ll also check out the new Bayside ep.

 

I'm a research analyst professionally. When i do research, it usually takes me more than 10-15 minutes (which it looks like it took you less than that despite saying you wasted "too much time" looking into something on a band you don't even care about)?

Just pointing out that you seem to have your own bias on this issue and issues similar.

Nice! Y&H released one more album after stay away. Didn’t get a lot of publicity since they did it independently, but also check that out if you happened to miss it!

 

Just the usual cynical immaturity on ap.net… whatever makes people feel righteous, I guess. I “get” it, but oh well. Literally all I plan to listen to is ATL this week. The new album is excellent.

I didn't mean to ignite any of this infighting but this is exactly what I was talking about with virtue signaling Twitter type mob mentality. It is always the virtuous who are out here showing their virtue by launching personal attacks on not only the bands themselves but on anyone who isn't fully on board their cancel train.

Their virtue does not apparently include respect for others and their opinions or the virtue to not engage in bully typed behavior. Virtue signalers scare me because they genuinely think they are above, better than and more enlightened than everyone else and act out on those thoughts with toxicity. For example if I see all the recantments and say hmmmm...I'm not sure...in their eyes that makes me a bigot who doesn't believe women and part of the problem, probably even an abuser myself in their eyes.

Great read. But if you read back our engagement, I gave MY opinion on ATL. I said nothing about him. He then disrespected me (and this entire site) by stating that we are "cynical" and "immature". Disregarded the opinion (shared by many) by downplaying it and passing it off as "whatever makes us feel righteous". So, who disrespected an opinion first? Only after all that I told him that if he has problem with the opinion, he is free to visit another site that closely shares his views if it bothers him so much. I guess the only "personal attack" was that he won't be missed. So, fine, I'll apologize for that and only that.

I never mentioned you or any user here directly but now that I look you did call the members of the band "f'ing scumbags" as if you were there and know to the very inner fiber of your being that they are guilty and deserve to be forever shunned. It's just always been weird to me how certain people pretend to be in their need to stand atop their monument of virtue...while launching attacks. You also didn't exactly state your opinion as if it were an opinion. You stated it like settled factual knowledge everyone should be aware of.

I did call them that, and I will stand by that. Again, it's MY opinion. Practice what you preach and let people have opinions, even when you don't agree with them.

 

I respect that. Fair enough. I'm ready to move on to more enjoyable topics anyway than discuss the alleged acrions of what in my opinion is a very mediocre band at best anyway lol
