I need the rest of the season now, please.

The action of this episode was certainly fun, but the Ahsoka/Sabine training scene was so much more my jam lol

the dogfight scene was giving me big prequel vibes with the cockpit views, dialogue, and sound effects. this is a fun show so far and I'm really enjoying it, getting a little worried Thrawn isn't going to show up until the end of the season as a cliffhanger though. Hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Are we getting a season 2 of this or is this limited?

Well, since we have been shown a shot of Thrawn, I would hope that it isn’t the last scene of the season. That would suck. After this last episode, I have a feeling we will get to the other galaxy either the end of next week or the start of episode 5. Well, at least whoever ends up on the hyperspace ring.

My current theory is that the ring will make the jump in my timeline above. Hera will peace out with the ghost to go get Ahsoka/Sabine and they will use purrgils to make the jump. Whether it’s Ahsoka or Sabine who communicates with them, I haven’t decided yet. Having Sabine have a force moment connecting with them could work. And it turns the whole start small thing on its head when she connects with huge ass space whales. Regardless, the purrgils wrap up the Ghost and make the jump, just like they did with Ezra.

that would leave us with four episodes in the other galaxy. Obviously I don’t know anything about what’s there, so that’s where my theory ends for the time being.

I would love to see Ezra before Ep 8, but they are holding showing him, so I have to assume it’s to make his return more impactful at the end of the season. It will depend how they do it, but I would be very bummed if they’re hiding him because he has gone dark. I’m hoping they just want to surprise us with him in the finale.

Maybe we get Thrawn by Ep 6?

Yes, but the fact that her helmet was custom fit for her tendrils or whatever they’re called, made me roll my eyes. I just kept imagining how long it would take for her to get that piece off and on.

I know it's been released that Filoni is making a movie so I assume this show will lead into it in some capacity

Yeah thrawn should be in the show by the end of episode 5.

hoping Ahsoka shows a bit of charisma this season. Her character in this show is boring as hell.

  10. I can get down with dogfighting through a flock of space whales. Ahsoka fighting outside the ship sounds cooler in theory than it was in execution, but it was still cool to see.

Just got to S2 of Rebels as well.

I just don’t like how predictable the pacing is in the D+ shows. Knew we wouldn’t get Anakin or Thrawn til the back half.

Yeah Ahsoka's character is boring af so far; 90% just her standing around with her arms crossed, with a hard stern look on her face and restrained vocal phrases.

I mean, I think it would be silly to assume Thrawn or Ezra would pop up right away when it’s been clear the SEARCH for them is the main plot of the show. Finding them logically fits towards the end of the season. So, yea, logic is predictable, sure. But the vast majority of stories (especially in mainstream) are predictable.

Her fighting outside the ship fits in perfectly with Clone Wars style but is hard to pull of in live action and not look kind of silly

Release My Mind, My Garden Grows

Its unfortunate how common the trend is in these D+ shows where they save the major villain reveal or whatever for the last few episodes. Narratively it makes sense with Thrawn here but Hawkeye, Loki, BoBF, Mando off the top of my head are all guilty of doing similar things. It gets old fast personally, switching it up a bit would be nice.

idk i didn't think a second of the training scenes was boring from her.

Yea, I wouldn’t call her boring. I truly think the warmth Eckstein brought to the role makes a huge difference though. I don’t get that here. While Snips got less bubbly and all that over the years, that warmth has been in every Ahsoka voice role. I feel the difference. I’m still working on accepting that's just how this has to work.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I'm a little tired of all these dogfight scenes if I'm being honest, I get it's a Star Wars thing but every single damn show has them and this one was like half the episode

MEW continues to be absolutely wonderful as Hera, it's a shame she's apparently going to be stuck in the b-plot all season because she's carrying the show so far. I'm also glad David Tennant is having fun here because the main plot really really needs it. his delivery of "just a little closerrrrrr" was amazing

Normally, I wouldn’t really care either way about the dogfight but the bad guy ships were basically WW1 spitfires and that’s cool to me

I think that Ahsoka not being warm and being sort of stiff is purposeful and a part of the plot here and it can change later on once she accepts her role.

Hera calling out Kaz's dad really got me going.

We haven’t really had that much space fights in Disney Star Wars live action. I don’t see the issue.

I’m referring to the feel and vibe of the voice. But I agree she will likely open up as we go.

Oh my god, that was Kaz’s dad. I deleted that show from my brain. What a Dick bag he is.

dogfights, and filming them in "space", are part of what made the OT so amazing to begin with. they are almost always great visual and sound scenes in anything Star Wars. but also, there haven't been that many dogfights in the shows. Andor had one that lasted like 30 seconds, I don't remember any in BoBF or Obi Wan, and Mando has had a few but nothing crazy.

    Eat Pizza

haven't watched episode 3 yet, but listening to the House of R recap pod today, I had a few theories.

Jo mentioned that Shin may be Skal's daughter, which was my theory from the start. their names both being tied to Norse mythology seems like too big of a coincidence (although I guess not in-universe, and it's their "last name" being related but not the same, but names might work different in their culture).

also, has anyone thrown out the theory that the other galaxy Thrawn & Ezra are in could be ours??? probably unlikely, but might cool to see them end up in the Milky Way (clarification that I have done zero research into if the galaxy shown on the star map resembles ours even a little).
