Meh. I absolutely adore TDB. This is quite a step backwards. The songs sound more like B-Sides rather than album worthy tracks. There are some good moments but it all just feels a little awkward.

Yeah it's her, saw them last night in Pittsburgh and they opened the show with that song.

  3. finally listening to this and it’s dope - it’s not as good as TDB (but what was going to be?) but it still rips and reminds me of eternal cowboy mixed with searching for a former

Not nearly as special as TDB but this is still a very good Against Me record.

Bummer, this album isn't really doing anything for me. Nothing really sticks out, which is disappointing cause TDB was in my top 10 from last year

I think this album is really fun and diverse and is such an enjoyable listen, especially in the car. It will probably get bumped out of my top ten by other things but I'm happy with it as an album and I think it's as good of a follow up to TDB as they could have mustered

I think I'm the only person who enjoys this more than TDB lol.

Next Show - Foals April 22nd

Finishing up my second listen and it's not grabbing me the way TDB did. The songs that were released before held up well for me and I'm still planning on going to see them on Wednesday. I'll give this album some more time though.

Just listened for the first time. "Rebecca" was my immediate favorite. Really enjoyed it, not as much as TDB though.

I loved TDB, and I love this record. I've listened to quite a few times with the stream, and I think it's my favorite record of the year so far.

I think I've probably listened to the whole album about a dozen times now and I really enjoy it but then I'm an unabashed fan of pretty much every album they've released and I've been to an embarrassing number of their shows over the years. Saw them last night in Pittsburgh and they were amazing, as usual, with a great mix of old and new songs so definitely check them out if they come near you. I'm always afraid their new music won't grab me or their live show will become boring and I'll fall out of love with them which has happened to other bands I used to enjoy but so far it's all good so I'm happy.

I didn't like this at all. Much weaker than TDB, which I already wasn't a huge fan of. I'm just looking for something different from this band, I guess; my favorite is White Crosses.

It's early but Delicate might turn out to be my favorite song from the band. I'm really feeling that one so far.

TDB means a lot to me/helped me a lot and I don't think it will be topped in that regard but I can see this ending up a more enjoyable album to me overall. It will always be close between TDB, Former Clarity, and this if it holds up though.

Early favorites: dead rats, Rebecca, Norse truth, 333

Pretty good: 12:03, boyfriend, delicate/petite, suicide bomber

    Ehhhh: provision, haunting

Actively don't like: all this (and more)

Undecided: Crash. I can't tell if it's the best song they've ever written or the worst. I find myself singing along, while scratching my head and asking myself if it's terrible.

And dead rats, rebecca, Norse truth, all right after one another, holy shit. What an amazing stretch of the album. I feel like it kind of slows down a lot with suicide bomber, and All this.

    and a little jingle...

Yeah, Crash has a unique vibe for them imo....it's like fuzzrock/shoegaze almost. I like it, it's fun...and different for them.

Most this album is underwhelming though....doubt I'll be coming back to this at all.

I really feel like the band has a deep, epic, lyric heavy, powerful record inside them....and I wish they'd make that, rather than these disposable, uninspired "punk" songs(I think they're trying too hard to adhere to the punk sound and it's hampering them). Maybe I'm expecting too much from this band.

The last two tracks aren't bad per se, but I think the album peaks at Norse Truth, and those two songs certainly aren't at that level.
