  1. Not On Tour are a great punk band with an album coming out soon. Their last is great too.

weren't we just talking about being considerate of peoples feelings when they have to grapple with problematic art yet I'm getting "I told you so'd" about kanye?

There are so many good hardcore bands with poc/non men. HIRS put out definitely the best hardcore album of the year yesterday, Laura Jane grace and more are on it

The Bombpops are really great, not hardcore though, more 90s-era pop-punk (RIYL Green Day). Their album last year was awesome and their new EP that came out two weeks ago is great too. Been spinning that a lot.

That’s the full EP on Fat Wreck’s YouTube channel.

Hardcore is at the same time the most accepting scene and the least accepting scene based on where you go. It’s wild

Look, I know you mean me. So I'm sorry, but where were the consideration of women's feelings for explaining time and time again, how so many horrific things he's said in the past were blatantly misogynistic, esp the Cosby is innocent stuff, and was being looked over? It's just frustrating to me, and it hurts.

Yeah I'm doing the I told you so thing, because it took THIS long. A tweet about Candace Owens of all things is now what is making my timeline, mostly MULTIPLE men from this forum, going "he's over"? Yeah, I'm upset about it so I'm going to be vocal.

I'm sorry I've made people uncomfortable on here because I'm being direct, but I don't know how else to express myself. Why did it take this tweet, of all things, for people to say they were done with him? Not the comments about Amber or other women, not the indirect way of saying women were lying about abuse, none of that, just "oh yeah Candace Owens is great" and boom, multiple men have suddenly said "I'm done with him". I just want to know why.

I'm sorry I'm so aggressive. I just, I don't know how else to talk about it. I'm sorry I've hurt people. This just has been really weird to grapple with and this is how I'm reacting about it.

And don't be surprised when I call out multiple men for taking this long, over one tweet about someone like Candace Owens, of all the things, after everything else that's happened, to say Kanye's over. I'm sorry I made you feel that way, but I was beyond frustrated to see so many people all of a sudden change their tune over something like this.

Better late than never, but, it hurt.

It's weird going to shows in Baltimore or VA and have them be completely different than DC shows. I've been to a couple of PA shows and they're a whole different thing too. I've had the best times in DC for sure tho.

we were literally just talking yesterday about people struggling with art and that being okay and how we should be more understanding about that struggle, its not like it wasnt a struggle for me to listen to kanye before this at all, but if you really wanted to know why this is what made me finally draw a line you would've asked instead of just doing an "i told you so" tweet and making me feel even shittier.

dc scene seems super accepting, I know there are a bunch of cool promoters like kohei that do awesome diverse stuff. Damaged city is a good representation of that

Well I was feeling shitty too, from this thread for other reasons, and how people were approaching that as well. Anyway, I deleted that so, *again*, sorry for snapping. But I also hope people could understand why this has been bothering.

wondering if there's going to be cerce/IKG shows though. i doubt it though and i wouldn't be shocked if it all fell apart

  21. Also it could just be me but I feel like that Punk Talks thing has really overshadowed the Cam situation.

yeah i agree, as someone who will publicly admit they "liked" that tweet more out of spiteful behavior than anything but somewhat quickly realized that that was a shitty thing to do and a very poor way to go about it.

ive messaged jason about it but i think its fair that i publicly apologize for that, even if i only hit the "like" button it was shitty and immature of me to do. same thing with the 30STM thread.

Is there a short short version of what happened with 30STM on here?

  25. CoffeeEyes17

    Reclusive-aggressive Prestigious

a user, who I won't name, came into the 30STM thread and asked in a pretty aggressive tone why the allegations against Jared Leto were kind of brushed off by some. people responded that they weren't financially supporting him and then things continued to escalate as more people came in to defend their friends/throw in their 2 cents like myself. some snide comments were thrown around, @Jason Tate came in to moderate and banned some users, which prompted one user to make a pretty shitty thread and tweet about Jason. this boiled over into other threads, feelings were hurt, myself and a couple others had a hard time letting it go, passive-aggressive "likes" were thrown around, it was just a mess. it kinda came to a head in here and now we're dealing with the fallout and where to go next.

as for me, I'm trying to make amends where I can and take this as a harsh but necessary learning experience.
