What an incredibly thoughtful post. I hope her and the other women that reached out continue to heal. She seems like very strong person.

 

Definitely forgiveness that the band did not earn. Really hope she continues healing and will be okay when the band eventually reunites.

 

For what it's worth, that did not read as forgiveness me, at least towards the band. Maybe more so towards the folks that have kept listening to them.

 

Couple of sentences in there actually have me a little concerned about how she's looking at herself and her decision to speak up.

In no way does she really owe the "fanbase" an apology or have to make caveats for other people to enjoy the band's music, but ultimately at the end of the day, if she's in a better headspace for it, then good.

 

i have to imagine the sheer fucking wrath she faced from some fans after the allegations came out would be enough to seriously mess with her headspace for quite a while.

Knowing there were even more women isn’t a surprise and says a lot. The biggest thing that has stuck with me is how they didn’t protect the victim(s) from the vitriol of their own fans and I can’t shake that.

That’s true. “Grace” is maybe the better word. Neither the band nor the fanbase deserves it imo considering the years of shit she went through.

 

Agreed, but it's hers to give out. If it helps her to heal this way, then I'm happy for her.

 

Right. It’s not about what the perpetrator deserves (or the fan base deserves) morally/ethically. It’s about what the victim needs to feel empowered to keep living their life with some peace/closure/etc.

I feel fine hearing and supporting what she is saying without extending that same level of grace to the band and its toxic fan base in my own mind.

 

Totally fair assessment.

 

Bhad Bhabie posted ringcam footage of her getting physically abused by her kid's father and photos of her Injured face afterwords. Not posting it because it's real bad and I don't want to trigger anyone. Also tons of the comments victim blaming and being racist like "that's what happens when you hook up with thugs", ect

 

she’s doubling down and defending him now, weird situation. Cops said no report was filed either.
