Are people honestly surprised that the bands that already play red state festivals are going to tour with one of the largest bands of that scene with those view points? Modern metalcore is a red state genre now.

As a gay person who is friends with trans people, the fact that these bands did this is not surprising in the slightest, even Underoath and Spiritbox.

None of these bands give a shit. They might not be outspokenly anti-trans but money is more important to these acts than not supporting one of the most popular bands of that scene.

 

Shitty capitalistic behavior, baby. Pushing them principles aside to make that dough...no matter the cost.

Yeah… like Ronnie sucks for sure, but being like “Eh, maybe he’s a literal murderer, maybe he isn’t, who cares!” is a pretty bizarre position itself imo when you’re literally talking about the worst crime that exists in our society. I personally think accuracy matters with something that serious, and there’s plenty of things he actually did that he can be criticized for rather than exaggerating.

 

What the hell is the point of what you’re doing? Trying to make sure we dislike Ronnie Radke for the things you approve? He was involved in an altercation that resulted in someone dying. He was complicit and fine with it until he went to jail. There are actual videos from the last two decades I remember seeing on YouTube of him openly asking fans for money and handouts for no reason and nothing returned. Repeated sexual abuser and all of the above mentioned. Even without all that on his track record, the guy is a major toolbag and a herb that makes terrible music and you want to make sure he’s not sporting one too many bad labels. Get bent weirdo.

 

If somebody stands in solidarity with somebody else, in any situation, and does not attempt to prevent the murder/is complicit and watches it, they’re just as bad of a human being. Split hairs elsewhere.

 

I really hope UO and SB get called out enough to drop off, incredibly egregious on both their parts.

but if you want there to actually be accountability, such as the purpose of this thread would imply, then would you not want to be as accurate as possible? blissfully getting stuff wrong and being like "meh who cares!" is willfully ignorant and reckless, and is going to drive people away from what you even want to do in the first place
