It's the same shit Tucker Carlson and his ilk pull when they're just asking questions. "If they would lie to you about this one, minor, all but inconsequential detail (that they actually just mistakenly got wrong because we're all human and mistakes happen) what else are they lying to you about!?"

Seems like a case where it would be beneficial to be able to see all the details of the court case, what the videos are, etc etc etc. I don't feel comfortable personally forming thoughts based off one instagram post about the case

 

My thoughts on this exactly. The video footage/partner statement could be exonerating o4 it could be that there is just not enough evidence to pursue charges. Regardless, it just shows to me how stacked the deck is against survivors who elect to press charges against their assailants even overseas.

 

Reading this statement got me thinking back to the Win Butler allegations hitting mainstream media and his extremely weird response (offering contact info for non-problematic hookup references etc), and now I think we can say for certain there has been a pretty clear commercial and reputational dent in their tour revenue, if not the immediate knockout or implosion many were understandably hoping for. Still, this shit costs major companies money and I suspect artists and more importantly their management/reps noticed that and are keener than ever to keep public statements as clean and unobjectionable as possible. One thing I noticed on reread is the partner's statement "does not support" which is not quite "contradicts"
