tbf they made the card too big to fit in a wallet so I only carry it when I have a concert and sometimes I forget, also we're already giving underpaid people more work

Anytime I’ve had to show a vax card a picture was fine.

 

Vax cards should have been handled more responsibly at the onset. Don’t understand why it couldn’t have been credit card sized, laminated/hologramed with some sort of identifying number to verify its authenticity.

 

I’ve used the New York excelsior pass a handful of times and it definitely came in handy.

 

I laminated my card but then I got the booster so I have two vax cards cause it feels like a waste to get rid of the fancy laminated one

 

It’s wild that you don’t have mobile vaccine certificates in America

This is mine - I always have my phone on me and security at venues check your vax certificate on the phone. You have to open the app used in your state for check ins and show the holographic certificate. If you don’t have a mobile phone, you provide a print-out of your covid certificate accessed through your Medicare account or a doctor’s certificate. And if you’re a tourist or coming from interstate, you have to provide official vaccine documentation from a doctor/Medicare or from a similar app.

no joke: private health insurance in this country is crazy expensive but it’s the only way anyone can afford dental care. It’s ridiculous. There are also doctors that don’t bill bill, so Medicare can’t pay half, which leaves people paying big prices just for check ups. Many flaws in the system that successive governments want to privatise medical care even more

 

we do have those, idk why more people don’t use them. I have my digital vax card in my apple wallet

yeah the mobile app here i believe is a state by state thing, New York has the app and I have my pass right in my apple wallet, but i know folks in other states who have to either carry the card around or keep a bunch of good pictures of the card ready on their phone.

 

Yeah in Chicago we do not have the app. You either have to have a picture or the card, or there’s now a database/website online that has your vax info that you can pull up, which is convenient if you ever accidentally misplace your vax card.

 

A nice thing about the new iOS is that you can choose to have your card in your Wallet, since it has the QR code to scan/dates you had your series/etc. etc. I've also got photos of my vax card in an album on my phone, as well as a screenshot of the Virginia Dept. of Health site that has all the info on it as well. As soon as the people checking saw that I had everything ready to go in an album they were like "wow you're prepared."

 

I just keep mine in my purse which is with me 90% of the time. Went to a show last night and was disappointed that I could see people in the crowd not wearing masks, including someone in the front row a few feet away from venue staff. Went to a show at the same venue a few weeks ago and they were mask checking ppl in the crowd so I wonder what changed as it was mostly the same staff members. Was a bummer and I felt anxious the rest of the set after I noticed.

 

It’s a state-by-state thing here. In New Jersey we have a mobile app for proof of vaccination. New York has one too. I never carry my card with me.

I was given a vax card with my first dose and it doesn't have my name or anything except the date and brand of vaccine. And then I got nothing for my second dose. So I have to pull up the county website anytime I have to prove my vaccination status
