Chris Conley of Saves the Day has been accused of abusive behavior. This was my favorite band of all time and I even idolized Conley. I know he’s had his struggles with substance abuse and mental illness but that is absolutely no excuse for some of the things posted here. It’s a matter of right and wrong and I’m willing to throw my favorite musician overboard for what is right. He needs to be held accountable for his actions.

I remember the drunken rant and some other problematic behavior from him. Should absolutely be removed from a position of power and people need to stop enabling that behavior.

 

Goddamnit.

 

I didn’t fault him for the drunken rants or straight up tripping balls on stage. Alcoholism is real and substance abuse is real. I shook it off as him succumbing to the substance. This takes it to a whole new level.

 

Oh absolutely, very clear distinction between that and what just came out.

 

Is there a better way to read that? Why did they post it in the story option? It keeps changing when I’m trying to read the whole thing.

Same here. It’s a tough pill to swallow when the person who wrote songs that saved your life and influenced you for 15+ years does horrible things. Like I’ve said... there’s no excuse for this behavior, but Chris definitely needs help and I hope he gets that help. I feel so much for the victims / survivors in this, but I’m glad that people have seemingly been quick to offer support. It’s just... damn.

 

whats interesting to me is how outspoken the other members of the band (rodrigo especially) are about this and other political stuff, so I wonder if they were even aware ?

 

Well based on that posts, whoever has access to their instagram account has been able to see this stuff for at least 5 months. Outside of that, we all know abusers are often very skilled at hiding their behavior from people around them in order to maintain their image. I wouldn't be surprised if the other band members didn't know, but now that its all out there it sort of becomes a question of at which point does that benefit of the doubt run out.
