I haven’t listened to them since and think that anything they do post at this point would be too little too late. But as I think it was pointed out around that time, it’s not uncommon for that band’s socials to go silent for months at a time when they have nothing to promote.

 

People say that it’s not uncommon but they just put out an album last year and were posting regularly throughout 2020 up until the survivor came out with their story. It’s just way too suspicious that they suddenly didn’t have anything new to promote right when that came out. They had no issue finding things to promote prior...

 

Even if they had addressed it the very day the allegations came out, it's not really something that can be fixed by a simple "oops, sorry". They allowed Ciaran to remain in the band, on tour, well after they knew what he was doing. They intentionally continued to expose him to fans despite knowing all of that. They basically covered it up and because the fans didn't know what Ciaran had done until after he was already out of the band, they thought they were going to get away with it. Fuck 'em.

 

Having an album come out in August, during a pandemic year no less where promotion is even MORE key for staying afloat, and then completely stop social media at the end of December around the time shit comes out? Yea no that's definitely sketchy, there's no way a band wouldn't keep promoting and doing stuff for an album that had come out 4 months prior unless something was stopping them from doing so

 

maybe they've spent the last three and a half months locating their fucking spines or whatever, doubt it

 

yeah I’m super disappointed in them in general after reading the survivors statement, but the fact that they’ve been completely silent since it came out is fucking disgusting

What accusations? People acknowledged a mistake was made about Josh Woodard in regards to the accident, and we’ve moved on from that. If you’re referring to the assault allegations, most of us here choose to believe victims, and where there’s this much smoke, there’s usually some fire. You’re free to think whatever you want, but suggesting anyone here is out of line for slandering his character is fucking ridiculous.

 

Yeah Josh has had allegations for at least a decade minimum. I’m pretty sure he was the first of that scene I can remember being called out.
So, happy to hear he didn’t murder someone, but it should be no surprise that he’s believed to be a creep and a POS behind closed doors.

Nobody was actually disappointed he didn’t kill someone. People were being facetious. This isn’t that hard to understand.

 

People didn’t “accuse” Mitski of sex trafficking here, we were just going off of the information at hand and figuring out how best to handle the news. It was basically a wait for more information situation for many of us in here.

 

It’s just sort of funny to make a statement like that when you’re in a thread you know you’re coming into to be controversial and make comments you know are likely not going to be agreed with.

 

tbh some of the comments around the Woodard manslaughter were pretty weird (snooping his traffic tickets, 'darn, he didnt kill someone'). Hoping for someone to be a shittier person when we already have enough to dismiss him is a weird look.

That being said, this is Accountability in Music, not Accountability in 'Accountability in Music', so best not to belabour the point.

 

Nobody said "darn, he didn't kill someone". Nobody was disappointed he didn't kill someone.
