To everyone just "checking out" the new A Day To Remember record, or even enjoying the album, just a reminder that Josh Woodard is an abuser and has had allegations made against him going back 10+ years (and as recent as last year).

 

It appears a lot of people hate the new album. So maybe this will be the start of their demise...

The quality of the music is irrelevant.

 

Well yeah, I think everyone in this thread knows that, but unfortunately, there are probably a lot of people that either don't care about or haven't heard the allegations. So if their album sucking shit gets some people to stop listening, I'm not going to complain about that

Given the tenor of what I’ve seen people saying around the internet, if the album were “good” I don’t think you would see nearly as many people ready to drop them despite the Woodard allegations. It’s like now that they put out a bad record people are suddenly remembering the allegations and being like “yeah the records sucks AND the bassist has some allegations so fuck this band”. It’s like, no you can just say fuck this band because of one, the other isn’t relevant at all.

 

People stopping being a fan because they dislike the album is good in theory, but when the band drops another record that is more in line with how most of their fans like their music, a lot of those people will jump right back on ship. That’s why I wish people were stopping being fans because of the allegations, not because the album sucks.

 

Exactly. If the band turns around and makes essentially Homesick Part 2 for their next record, all these people will be back on board and the allegations will be a distant memory.
