Social media arguments/comments really aren’t my thing, but I chimed in on an Instagram comment section last week with something like “Morgan Wallen is a 27 year old adult celebrity, if you know not to use racial slurs then he definitely should too, there are no excuses” and was quickly met with someone being like “Then explain Nick Cannon’s racist comments, he’s an adult too”. A response just nonsensical enough to remind me how bad white people want racism to be okay

I love it when people use the phrase "cancel culture" to lament the fact that they're being called out on something shitty they've said/done. Almost like being held accountable for your actions is an entirely new concept for people.

I find it interesting that Morgan has not issued a public apology or statement on any of his social media accounts...and then I realized, he's not because he knows his fans would be pissed if he apologized.

ever since he placed Science Fiction as his 2016 AOTY, in spite of all the shit that went down with JL, i've had an odd vibe about him...

 

Dude is an absolute tool bag. He reviewed an AFI album where he said the band was only in it for the money at this point and I told him he was wrong and he proceeded to call me a “terrible person”. Dude can fuck off and have his career rot.

 

The only YouTube music critic I’ve found to be somewhat decent is Todd In The Shadows and even his early stuff is fairly problematic.

This genre of dumb white dorks screaming about women to a camera and calling it music criticism on Youtube makes me want to walk into the ocean.

BREAKING: Morgan Wallen Breaks His Silence

 

Yeah, as far as YouTube music critics go, you can't go too wrong with Todd In The Shadows IMO.

 

His early videos bordered on anti-woman and kind of anti-hip-hop, but he’s definitely changed since then for the better. He has a great podcast called “Song Vs. Song” with a trans journalist that I think has given him a lot of perspective.

 

He for sure improved greatly over time. At this point I eschew watching people's content from the early 2010's pretty much as a rule anymore, it's just always going to be a minefield. Didn't know about that podcast though, that's dope.
