I have a BeenVerified.com subscription and looked him up. The site is usually very accurate and up to date but nothing's shown up upon search.

 

Interesting. The San Luis Obispo paper reported on it a bunch at first but I haven't seen an update in a long time.

 

If you just do a cursory search of neck deep it’s not like allegations are popping right up. And honestly im sorry but you can’t expect every writer to google “band name: allegations” every time they write about anyone, that could have serious negative mental health effects for individuals traumatized and triggered by those things

 

With that being said, I DO hope someone will always tell me if I ever accidentally write about someone terrible. Unknowingly or in a manner that addresses it is the only way it would ever happen on purpose.

There's folks I have to grit my teeth and deal with being written about because opening my mouth poses a threat to my physical safety and I never want to be the reason someone else is in that position.

 

Bingo! Just please be nice about it.

When someone makes me feel bad because I thought something was resolved, and then even looking into it shows all sorts of messy weird shit that I can't even parse months later, like .. shit, it's hard! We're trying though.

I even did do a lot of googling and searching for the bands I picked for the feature. From April 23rd:

Swapping out that artist now for another one of Trevors.

 

I just checked him out 10 minutes ago, that's a new record of listening to an artist to realizing they're shitty.

Did anything more ever come of those rape allegations against the guy from Tool? All I can find is the original anonymous Twitter account that made the allegation and the singer's denial. It's made me a rather uneasy seeing people/publications gleefully posting about their return.

It’s super fucked up and I’m disappointed in all this people on this site still eagerly posting about this band. I was actually gonna come make this post after seeing the tool thread but you beat me to it

 

Catching up on this thread just now, saw this and was gonna mention that it literally happened to me yesterday lol. But I see it’s already been talked about.

That was stressful and felt terrible. Thankfully I had an extra 20 minutes yesterday morning to write up something quick to replace it immediately. Thank you @OhTheWater again for saying something!!

Tool regrettably are the kind of band that can make serious allegations go away by doing literally nothing. The majority of their fan base is white dudes in between 30-50. They don't give a fuck

 

That's a real bummer to hear about Dan. If he gets kicked out, that's probably gonna be the end of SIO. I know him and Cody are best friends/founders of the band/primary songwriters. SIO's last three albums have been fantastic.

 

As much as I personally like SIO's material, I can't say I'm really surprised since last I checked they were friends with Ronnie Radke.

 

i went to my first la dispute show last night and i never felt more safer. it was really refreshing to hear jordan telling a young crowd that you need to do more than just showing up to a show like this. support your friends, donate your time, listen to each other, and speak out. they really did a great job emphasizing that this is a safe space to be yourself. i dont know, it was really inspiring and a great break from shitty pop punk dudes. it was really cool to see girls on stage, girls as stagehands and female fronted bands. sad that the bar is so low, but it was really cool to see.
