So, you went to punk rock show for a band that’s had the same message and outlook for decades which, if you’re a fan of them, you should be aware of by now.

You didn’t like that the vocalist of said band spoke in between songs of current happenings and such, and maybe some of their own opinion (which I’m pretty sure every live act that’s ever existed aside from the Gorillaz and Blue Man Group have done at some point).

You proceeded to stand in the front row and give this musician the middle finger to his face for two songs straight.

You then began to talk shit and basically told the person performing to shut up and perform for you, but not speak otherwise.

You’re acting surprised that it started a fight, and now you want to sue/play the victim.

People like this are the reason why I don’t want to bring a kid into this world.

Does that situation even belong here? What Mike Ness did wasn't abuse. It was justice.

The story was posted earlier in the thread but it didn’t contain a lot of these details, so good for clarification if nothing

I don't even like Gorillaz but it's important to acknowledge that a lot of their music is extremely political

It turns out the guy Mike Ness beat up was in the Neo Nazi Proud Boys gang : punk

Especially when the douche it happened to was at the very least a Proud Boy sympathizer. Shit like this has no place at concerts. You reap what you sow.

“I stood pretty much with my silent protest with my middle finger up for the next two songs.”

What was this guy doing at a Social D show? Ness has always been very vocal on his distaste for Trump, so I’m not surprised he took the opportunity to clock one of Trump’s “proud boys.”

I was gonna mention it earlier with the Norma Jean thing, but if you've ever been to a show where nazis/white supremacists showed up... it's really really awful, and I don't feel sorry for this doucher one bit.

Same kind of people who hated on SFTP by clicking on every one of their videos and down voting it and leaving hateful comments following their "Goodnight Alt Right" video being spread around.

No this is totally true, I’m referring to music acts taking time in their live performances to talk in between songs about current events, personal experiences, etc etc. I named two acts that, off the top of my head at the time, do not do so during shows. Maybe Daft Punk as well.

I'll remember that next time I see you at a bar or restaurant or anything and beat the living sh*t out of you. Then I'll say "you reap what you sow" being the giant vagina you are. :)
I mean if you justify someone harming another because you dont like the way they voted or disagree with someone, what are you going to say when it happens to you? You literally argued that it was ok to do so!

  20. Before I ban one, just once, I'd like them to explain their self-censoring choices.

Saying they're gonna beat the shit out of someone ... totally cool, but gotta censor the word "shit." And then call someone a "giant vagina" but nothing there is censored. Broken-fucking-brained-idiots.

While I'm a little saddened that Jason justifiably threw the ban hammer down on you, the difference between myself and this fuck is I'm not out there throwing middle fingers to a punk rock singer that has alluded to his left leaning beliefs in his lyrics FOR DECADES and actively supportive of a militant, white supremacist group. Did you gloss over the part where he provoked Mike or did that whoosh over your head? If jackass had just bit his tongue and minded his own business, this wouldn't have happened. He had to go and act like a toddler and got a nice reward for it as a result.

Nazi and white supremacist ideologies have no place at punk, hardcore, or metal shows. There's a reason that the Dead Kennedys put out a little song called "Nazi Punks Fuck Off!" back in 1981 and people fought Nazi crews out of the hardcore scene for years. As much of a pacifist as I truly am, you start harassing people at a show like that...well, you reap what you sow. :)
