I don't think that's the same thing at all, and I honestly don't think Doug Stanhope really does either. He just thinks he has a really good point and he wants to get it across. If he actually does believe that's the same thing he's a fucking idiot.

That being said, if I were a producer of a news segment I wouldn't run the footage on my program. I would talk about what it said and maybe throw the quote up on the screen in quotes or something like that, but I wouldn't play the footage.

The South Park joke on him is one of the best things they ever did and a gift to humanity years later. He has always been terrible and will always be terrible. Home Alone 2 was the best thing he ever did.

Also it still baffles me that people like him and Louis CK say they’re going to take time off to become better people blah blah blah and then stage their comebacks with less time put in than tons of creators typically take between projects. Like these are not hiatuses in any way.

edit 1: I really hope this takes Green Book out of the running for the Oscars. But if Casey Affleck and Gary Oldman can still win awards, well...

edit 2: I just looked up Skydance, and they put out two of the best movies last year (Mission Impossible: Fallout and Annihilation). Fuck.

IIRC... Years ago I saw, maybe it’s on the behind the scenes feature on the DVD, they reveal that when making There’s Something About Mary, in the scene where the little dog jumps out the window of Mary’s apartment and her and her roommate look out the window and scream, they were actually looking at Peter standing pantsless outside and the scream was genuine because they weren’t expecting to see that.
