Also, it'd be different if the argument was whether or not the person should be held accountable. Instead the argument is just about whether it should be posted in this thread, which is honestly in my opinion a huge waste of time for everyone involved.

Yeah, but there's a difference between wasting time talking about plastic bags and shopping carts in the politics thread and wasting time talking about whether someone's post meets some imaginary criteria for the umpteenth time.

Wasting time should be fun, not obnoxious.

 

Nobody has to grab pitchforks but it’s worth knowing that there are people making entertainment for us that don’t understand why trigger warnings are needed and what the actual intent is. Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to just throw something on without worrying about their trauma. So yeah the people presenting this stuff not being informed or not caring is an issue to at least bring up imo.

We can’t do anything directly about it, just like we can’t do anything directly about anything that gets posted in here. But at least we’re informed.

as a consumer i can't really quantify whose content i choose to engage with. it's just a gut feeling, i either feel too gross about it or i don't. that shit with Jonathan Majors happened and I still begrudgingly watched Loki season two, but I also took Lovecraft Country off my shelf, the same way I did every Johnny Depp movie I had when the Amber Heard trial went down.
