I will say that finding out Goth is in a relationship with Shia is a huge red flag.

I disagree. Shia shouldn’t have a platform but their personal lives are completely seperated

Goth being in a relationship with Shia is only a red flag for Shia imo. Women falling for known abusers is sad and I hope she's safe with him.

But maybe I'm biased because Shia reminds me of my ex... Unfortunately

I admit to feeling weird about this and how there’s been this movement to look into the victim regarding this so much.

like it might be bs but just weird how quickly it got there? I dunno. Just my thoughts.

I thought it sounded fishy when the original article came out personally. It all just sounded so dramatized the way it was told. Hopefully she’s held accountable if it’s true, but this one always felt off to me for some reason.

again, i'm at least glad the article highlighted this again because it never really came up again after the allegations first dropped in January, but the relative silence surrounding the allegations since then either meant A24/Mia have really good PR, or there's possibly more to the story that they didn't feel could detract from the film's release.

echoing what others have said re: Shia. as much as i despise him and the way he's treated other partners (and the way the industry has seemingly ignored that and continued to give him roles), nobody knows the dynamics of their marriage but them, and his vile behavior should not intrinsically be linked to her alleged actions. hopefully she's safe.

Why do they keep bringing up the ants, mosquitos, and taking off the dry blood? It has nothing to do with her assaulting him and is part of the reason why it sounded so odd to me when it first came out. That and I still don’t see why a famous actress would follow an extra into the bathroom to mock him after assaulting him.

I don’t know Mia Goth to know what kinda person she is obviously, and if it was just him accusing of her of assault, I wouldn’t think anything of it to ever doubt him. But the story just sounds like one of those kids in elementary school that always made up stories and just kept adding details that made it more and more unbelievable.

i could be wrong, but i also think he's suing A24 as well, hence bringing up the working conditions

But wouldn’t that just be par for the course? I don’t think he’s the only extra to ever play a dead body that dealt with bugs or caked on fake blood. I hate bugs, but I wouldn’t work a job outside and sue the company for poor working conditions.

I feel like a dick for doubting someone because I really don’t want to be like that. And Mia Goth being a shitty person absolutely wouldn’t surprise me. But since day 1, I haven’t been able to shake the feeling that the story as a whole reeks of bullshit to me.

i agree that exposure to insects is probably pretty standard (although i'm not an actor, so idk what steps they take, if any, to deal with that). just pointing out that he's probably using that condition in addition to the claimed distress from the alleged incident with Mia and A24's negligence as a way to say "hey, this all happened under A24's watch and it was a shitty work environment and i should be compensated". not saying the mosquito thing has the merit he thinks it does, just that he probably would include it for some leverage against A24. i did see the author on Twitter talk with another user about this and apparently one point of contention is that the extra wasn't provided a mat to lay on for the scene, which is supposedly standard practice for those kinds of shoots? i guess that could correlate with increased exposure to ants, but again, idk.

Ahh I gotcha now, that makes more sense. I didn’t really view it as a leverage thing so it just came across as silly to me.

But like I said, I really don’t want to be the person that doubts someone. This one just always felt off to me. I just hope that it’s dealt with properly and whoever needs to be held accountable actually is.

I can’t speak to whether the mat would or wouldn’t be standard, but I do know that for any kind of intense makeup or fake blood, the makeup artists at the very least explain to you how to take it off if they won’t be able to do it themselves. I’ve never had fake blood on me but the removal process for anything in that realm can be pretty uncomfortable. I don’t know that pain experienced during that (regardless of if he was the one to remove it or not) would be something to put in a lawsuit. Unless someone was literally ripping it off of him or he was just clawing at himself. The bugs would’ve been there regardless of whether or not he had a mat to lay on so I’m really not sure why that’s being brought up. For scenes like he’s talking about, there usually would be some gaff tape or something somewhere to clue the principal actors into where the extra would’ve been. There’s also still plenty of lighting for night shoots, even if it’s a dark night scene in a horror movie.
I’d imagine the footage will end up being subpoenaed at some point. Granted if they weren’t rolling the entire time there would be gaps and an argument could be made these things occurred during those times. And obviously there wouldn’t be footage of the bathroom incident. Depending on the size of the shoot, there most likely would’ve been a separate bathroom for crew/extras and principal actors.

Basically, there are a lot of details that should be able to be clarified by production. I obviously have no clue what did or didn’t happen and even with all the details mapped out we’ll never know for sure. Just trying to shed some light or usual working conditions and such.

There is some odd stuff in the story but personally I find it more likely that the allegations are true than an extra made up this elaborate story and filed it as allegations subject to under oath testimony and discovery knowing there would have to be witnesses and video footage of at least the kick. If Mia’s team doesn’t win the motion to dismiss we should get to the truth (unless it settles) but I’m not going to go out of my way to doubt it in the meantime

i guess if the allegations are true, the question boils down to whether the kick was intentional/malicious or not. one way to read the supposed interaction in the bathroom is that Mia was mad that production was stalled several times because of an accidental kick. but even in that scenario, it wouldn't look good if that's the kind of attitude she/the crew has towards actor safety, and just as bad if she didn't apologize for what could've been accidental. not saying this is what happened, just speculating how A24 and her team would spin it.

    Yeah that article sucks lol.

But according to others, someone delivered bullets to investigators in March that “might” have been used on the set. The investigators did not include these bullets in the discovery disclosures to the defense. Investigators claimed they determined the bullets were not related. But the court determined it was error not to disclose them and dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning the charges cannot be brought again.

And it’s possible the armorer who was already sentenced could have her sentence overturned.

So the armorer could’ve killed someone else or even Jensen Ackles too? How do you fuck up that much? I haven’t followed this that much, so sorry if that’s a dumb question.
