I can't even find it in myself to be upset at her. That's just sad to me that her being sexually assaulted is so normalized to her to take this stance

    Re: Stone
What a dumb sentiment on her part. Other people didn’t apologize to me for bad things so why should anyone be held accountable.
And after reading the article I don’t buy that she’s been victimized and now thinks it’s normal because of some type of trauma. This quote says a lot:
“I think men are men and women are women. And I think that’s something we should want. I think we should want men to flirt with us. Now, these days, there are some women who don’t like certain things that I still like. For instance, I don’t want a man to ask me if he can kiss me, I really don’t. I want him to just grab me and kiss me.”

Looks more like she just can’t empathize with people who are hurt by non-consenting contact or sexual assualt.

I don’t think those things are mutually exclusive. She’s been conditioned to think all of that is okay. It’s a terrible thing to say obviously. But I think it’s a pretty telling symptom of being raised that men should be allowed to just do whatever the fuck they want

She says she prefers it that way so I’ll just take her at her word but I don’t care enough to argue over it. Either way its a shitty, selfish sentiment and she should be called out for it.

I am also probably overly sensitive right now to what I perceive as lack of empathy or selective empathy because of what’s going in world politics. Its always been extremely frustrating but it’s really driving me crazy lately

  10. genuinely confused. i don't think you interpreted my post correctly? or maybe i misunderstood yours? I was trying to say, you can call her out but it seems like you don't sympathize with her.

I don’t sympathize with her enough to not be upset with her or to not think she’s a bad person because that interview had a lot of bad stuff in it imo. But fair enough if someone does sympathize with her to that extent. I was saying I don’t care enough to argue about that but either way she should be called out for her very bad opinion that people shouldn’t be held accountable because not everyone has been. And her other bad opinion that Kevin Spacey is being targeted because he’s gay and not because he sexually assaulted people. She also downplays the allegations to unwanted touching (as if that’s not bad enough), which if you’re going to speak on it at least know what the victims are alleging. The whole thing was a tough read.

I didn’t feel like anyone was excusing any other terrible things she said or saying that it wasn’t a terrible thing to say, unless I misunderstood Victor’s last post

lmao just stfu Ellen and go.

not that I believe that she will go away forever, but very sad and pathetic that I’m sure she’s hoping by making that announcement people will sing her praises and beg her not to go. Lame as hell.

  19. Definitely curious to hear other peoples sides of the story who were there, after reading that…

It will be interesting if anyone else speaks up about it, or if there is a coverup (if what happenned, did in fact happen...)

This is the firs time really, that Ive heard of this, but doesn't sound good at all.

  21. The article and the quotes seemed a little off… maybe it’s just way it’s written.

What seems off about them? Her barging into a porta potty seems a little odd but idk he filed a lawsuit which subjects him to discovery and perjury so that gives it some credibility to me. It sounds like there should be other witnesses and video footage so more should come out at some point.

did some more looking at the author's Twitter and there are a couple of extra tidbits.

    1. they say there's apparently a reason why the footage of the supposed incident hasn't come to light yet/why A24 might be guarding it (which is not a good look if true, but also idk how often studios release BTS footage to begin with, let alone to the public).

    2. the extra says they have told the author they have medical records they can share as proof of the incident, although the author has yet to see them.

    3. there's someone in the replies (potentially a bot) sharing a screenshot of a now-deleted blu-ray.com post from someone who did BTS work on the film, claiming that the allegation is apparently not true and that they had cameras on her the whole time. the blu-ray.com account does exist on the website and their prior posts seem to lend some credibility that they work in the industry, so if legitimate, my guess is that the post was gaining some traction and A24 could've possibly told them to take it down for legal purposes.

none of this should downplay the severity of the accusations, as nothing has been proven to be true or false as of yet. if true, it's absolutely fucked up that A24 would try to cover this up, and i hope the extra gets some justice. that being said, the piece doesn't really add anything to what's already been revealed other than the fact that A24 denied the incident took place and that Mia herself said she couldn't comment on the issue but that she's grateful for A24's support. i guess it's good that in light of the film's release, this story has eyes on it again, but it also feels a bit weird that this was published without mentioning that there's more proof that could aid in the process but likely hasn't been released due to the legal process. idk, i'm sure more will be revealed soon.

  25. Yeah, who knows. I also felt something was off about the initial allegation, and that post seems to echo my thought process, BUT we'll obviously know more if medical records are released.
