Per another article, "Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner."

Also, how the fuck was someone able to get on stage to actually serve her? How bad does security need to be let some random on stage?

For now I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he actually didn't know the manner the papers were gonna be served. He's been nothing but respectful of their break so far so it would be pretty damn out of character to get so spiteful that he would try to publicly humiliate her all of the sudden. Admittedly I don't have a lot of knowledge on this but it makes sense to me that the company would do it themselves

he doesn't have any say or control when it comes to process servers. that was all their decision, not a spiteful move on Sudekis' part
and, as my lawyer friend had mentioned, for a server to actually serve you in a public setting like that you have to have been making your self incredibly unavailable and possibly intentionally dodging them in the first place.

Yeah, I work at a law firm and it also indicates she doesn't allow her lawyers/agents/business managers to be served for her as registered agents to make it even more difficult for her to be served. I used to get served weekly for one of our clients (payroll withholding for missed child support being 99% of why we're served) as a registered agent. Once you have to go into process servers, they get ruthless as it's the only way they get paid, typically.

A local radio host was served divorce papers on the air. It was surreal.

My only knowledge of process serving is the beginning of Pineapple Express. But my lawyer friends said pretty much what’s been said in here by others, that there must have been some heavy dodging going on to have her get served onstage.

Thanks for the additional info folks, I probably should have looked into it more before posting.

  14. Admittedly, it's been a while since I've attended a convention, especially with big celebrities. But before the panel starts or when asked during the Q+A, it wasn't unusual to see people approach the stage for autographs or give gifts to folks on stage.

On Saturday, the actor told CNBC’s Becky Quick that he had a “difference of opinion” with a woman he was working with on the film, saying, “I did something I thought was funny and it wasn’t taken that way.”

“As of now we are talking and we are trying to make peace with each other,” Murray said in an interview ...“We are both professionals, we like each others’ work, we like each other I think and if we can’t really get along and trust each other there’s no point in going further working together or making the movie as well. It’s been quite an education for me.”

He said he was optimistic that “we are going to make peace” and that production will restart, but noted that he’ll only do so if the woman involved in the incident is comfortable doing so.

“I think it’s a sad dog that can’t learn anymore,” Murray said of learning from his mistakes. “That’s a really sad puppy that can’t learn anymore. I don’t want to be that sad dog and I have no intention of it.”
