Thank you for your concern. I am okay. Was definitely a rough night.

A lot of my friends were at work on the strip when everything happened. Idek what to say except that I'm thankful they're all okay.

One thing about these situations is the way they suddenly make you feel unsafe in your own city. It's a weird feeling. I shouldn't be worried about shootings every time my friend goes to work at her job in a restaurant on the strip, and yet this is now the third time there's been one while she's at work.
life is scary as shit sometimes.

Hospitals are sullen, we all know that but it's eerie when stuff like this happens.
Victims
EMS
Cops
Employees
Doctors
It's soul crushing. There won't be good feelings after someone has deliberately done this to our friends, family, humans.
He's dead. He isn't left with consequences or the grief that families, friends, communities are going to take on for a long time.

I don't get it and I never will. How can you have that much hate in your heart for people you don't even know bc of differences that most of the time don't impact your life? How? Why? I'm not sure what the motive was bc I'm working and not completely up to date.

I don't know the answer and it's frustrating and it won't stop. I, in my heart of hearts, don't see a solution. You can't make people be good to each other. This is devastating.

 

i wish i had the answers but just know im glad you and your friends weren't harmed and are relatively okay. sorry yall had to deal with that madness. life is scary indeed.

 

It really is heartbreaking cus I; like you can't really see how you get rid of this completely. From politics, to religion, to humanity, to sensitivity you're basically trying to rewire a whole person/group of people who would be capable of this. Too many variables.

I couldn't ever fathom holding that much hate in one's heart... I've hated people before for hurting/crossing me but at worse I'd just keep distance and let truth speak for itself and fate handle it. Most hateful/spiteful thing I ever did was putting the bullies toy car (our teacher gave us all one last day of school) behind my Moms car tire as we were leaving in Pre School lol.

Not to make light, it's just so mind blowing and really sad. I wish something could be done but everytime you think there's an answer your answer has to answer 20 other questions, address 30 other angles, appease groups of people, etc etc.

 

Do you think it's due to hate or a mental illness..maybe both? Have they found out much about his past yet? I don't want to read the news.

 

i feel like i barely know how to be a person most days as is, but on days like today it is super weird knowing that a lot of pain and loss has been caused in the world and our nation amongst a group of like minded humans looking to have fun. just never can pull myself together at all and can't imagine how those closest to the victims feel

 

You dont kill 58 people without hate in your heart

 

I would say it's mostly hate, of course there is mentally ill mass shooters but in terrorisms case? I wouldn't disrespect the mental health community lumping them in. You don't kill multiple, dozens, hundreds, etc without immense hate in your heart, and there is no redeemable quality there.

The most I'll give them from a mental angle is some brainwashing.

 

I mean I'm a mentally ill loner and I'm very nice, it's complicated to know why people can be awful

 

Mental Illness takes the brunt of the blame always. There are so many other things that factor into these situations.

 

it's hard now, because a hatred so intense it is perpetuated through mindless violence is almost an illness in and of itself. can you have one without the other? like, is it really possible to guiltlessly mow down a bunch of innocent people and not have a mental illness?

 

anyway we just booked the horror movie cabin and i'm v excited. anyone in the hunter, ny area should arrange a spooking with me.
