And honestly, and you might not want to hear this now, but you will find that person who is just as sweet and then some and you will look back and be so thankful this didn't work out. Also, just some quick advice...try not to contact her, like, at all for several weeks @GettingSodas . Otherwise it's nearly impossible to gain a new perspective on your situation and move on.

I appreciate the kind words of reassurance. I was scared I was goi to feel so alone in this situation and beat myself up.

Well she's very sad and she's been trying to talk to me and she's moving out to college tomorrow so I feel bad that I put all this on her at one time.

I understand. If it makes you feel any better, just try and remember that there is never a good time for a breakup. I postponed mine for years because it was too close to this or too close to that. Looking back though, I am beyond thankful that we didn't work out because now she is seriously one of my best friends and we work so much better as friends than we did romantically, so that's always possible! But that takes time.

 

got my book in the mail today and I'm pleased with how it turned out. I know a few of you got a large print copy, and I'm sorry about that, I thought I was simply including the option of large print if people wanted it, but it might actually benefit you being a little larger? because the print is somewhat small imo, idk. first time self-publishing but I'm figuring it out. anyway, thank you to everyone who has purchased one so far and anyone who has even a slight interest, too.

 

me: I really need to catch up on my writing goal today, i'm a couple days behind

also me: i wonder what my ideal brand new setlist would look like for october

also: I set out to make a chapbook, which is just a few (often times short) poems. I hope it was worth the money you spent. it's hard for me to charge anyone anything for anything I do honestly. wish I could just give it all away. in a few weeks I will make the book maybe two dollars for anyone who wants one but didn't have the money at the time, or felt that it was too much.

 

I really hope that happen with my situation. I really do.

 

just know if i had the money, i would've ordered it day one. it's hard when you can't support friends in their art the way you want to. i'm sure you've been there. i'm proud of you. know your art has value and worth and you deserve something from it. if you give it away, do it of your own volition and not in a moment of self-doubt or your identity as artist.

Relationships are excellent learning experiences my man. My advice to you right now would be to give her the space she needs. It's possible to be friends in the future but it's crucial to put some distance between the both of you right now. Either way, you went with your gut and in my experience that's always been the right move.
