If this is real and not an April fool's joke I must just say that one thing I'm already missing are the small band icons beside each headline. It was nice to be able to quickly scan through articles and simply spot the icons for bands I liked to read about. Now it is just constant text. Otherwise, best of luck Jason!

There's no link from the Chorus.fm home page, the link is in the first post of each news article in this Article Discussion forum.

This is a war, sober up

Ah, gotcha. I was hoping there would be a link at the bottom of each article on Chorus.fm to its respective forum thread, so you could go directly from reading the article to talking about it. That would've made things a bit easier, but oh well, I'll deal.

Yep. If I had to guess, from what Jason's said, that flow/having the articles also posted here/etc is one of the things that's still being worked out.

  8. I've got some similar tricks up my sleeves. Nothing exactly the same though.

  9. It's a possibility in the future. The truth is that right now I actually wanted to make that a little more difficult, by design. I wanted to separate the forums from the content because besides the website itself feeling outdated, the news comments were the hardest thing for me over the past few years. It was really hard on my mental health and I need a break from that for a little bit. There's a good spot right by the social icons where a little "replies" box could go. And maybe there will be by the end of this year, but, for right now, I just need a little break from that for a while. I wanna make sure we get this forum up and running as best we can, that it's got good moderators, that the conversations are positive, and that I'm enjoying writing and publishing again. Then I'll slowly tackle that kind of stuff.

    Hope that makes sense.

is it the same for you? Prestigious

makes sense (and i figured it would happen) haha. was more of a meantime/continuity suggestion.

  11. DNS propagation around the world is weird. It should start doing that for everyone very soon.

Agreed, I really enjoy being able to recognize news (cough orange = brand new) at a glance. I hope something similar is introduced for sure!

Now that I discovered this part of the forums, I'm stoked. Good job Jason. Everything looks dope. I've been on here as xsinkshipsx for 13 years. It's been my number site everyday. Glad to not have to use that user name anymore haha

  17. Thanks! Haha, I think many of us are excited about a clean slate.

As much as I miss the old site simply for the sake of familiarity, my eyes already appreciate the new layout. Strain free....

PS- I'm so glad I visit daily and got to soak AP in all its glory one last time.

Makes complete sense now that you explained it further. Maybe you tried in your original post to say that already and I just didn't get it. Either way, I respect the process.

Really? I know that some people were obnoxious. and yes, sometimes you would see some conversations get completely derailed. Overall though, I definitely enjoyed sharing in the experience of a news post with people who knew how to do that appropriately AND learning new things at the same time. To me, its what made AP unique.

  22. Thanks. I wrote so much in that post to begin with there was always going to be things that were left out or needing to be expanded upon.

Can I have a prestigious account? I joined AP on November 20th, 2002 with the same username. I didn't have 10,000 posts, but I never saw very many profiles with a join date that long ago. (I asked in another thread but was half asleep and not sure I posted it in the right spot.) Anyway, congrats on the new setup.

Ah, you rock man!! Thanks!! I wish I could remember what brought me to AP all the way back then. I'm sure it was something Blink or Fenix TX related. I'm going through archive.org but don't recall. I can hardly remember how I used the Internet back then. Pretty sure I just had dial-up Internet. Just saw the trophy section. When I am a member here for as long as I was on AP, I will be in my mid to late 40s. That's enough Internet for today.

  25. Hahaha. I remember updating a website by literally uploading files over dial-up.

    The internet was weird.
