I Can Hear... is a great album. I can see how people think they can be boring, but I very much disagree about the insinuation that they aren't unique.

Also, Fenway Park used to play "Sugarcube" during Sox games. Feel like that's odd

I've heard them play "Waiting Room" by Fugazi a handful of times too. Lots of fun

  4. I feel like the looping bass line of "Moby Octopad" could probably drive an opposing pitcher nuts though!

Yeah, both teams get pretty steamed when they try to play "Night Falls on Hoboken" during the 7th inning stretch

Fade is the only YLT album I've heard and one of the first CDs I bought so it's special to me

    That article was awesonme!

I remember the joke of 'Who played for the NE Patriots, the Redsox, and the Bruins...' The answer was John Kiley, organist.

Next time Im at the game, Im making a note about the organist, and explaining to the girls....

    How awesome!

Kinda falling for Pavement in a real way. Listened to all five albums in the past 24 hours. Never thought it would happen, their music never clicked before

idk if we really wanna count this as indie "rock" per se but ive fallen back in love with Ben Folds Five. They could certainly rock the fuck out for a trio

Their entire catalog is a treasure. But definitely growers, all.

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is one of my favorite albums from that era if not just in general. I've only really listened to that and Slanted and Enchanted though aside from a few tracks here and there. Gotta dive into the others for sure

Relistening to Loveless right now for the first time on my nice new speakers, and this sounds like the way it was meant to be heard. Wowie zowie. Fucking juggernaut from the literal first seconds. Also, I'm one OK Computer away from listening to the entire P4k top 100 of the 90's list. Been a fun journey.

It's the reason I keep saying it, lol. It started as me saying "I still don't really like Pavement but Wowee Zowee, that one record is great!" The other four didn't take right away, not even a little bit

This time through Loveless, weirdly enough, has multiple times reminded me (all of "Soon," especially) of like that INXS-style early 90s pop that was so heavy on bombast and maximalism, just pulled in a different direction.

Speaking of Pavement Harness Your Hopes came on Spotify the other day, and I was floored. Dope tune.

I've never been big on Pavement either but if I really dig the score Malkmus did for Flaked then where should I start with Pavement albums

Soon is soooo 90s pop through a different lens, it's awesome. Loveless is such a magical album, it's the perfect mix of great because it sounds so fucking cool and great because the songs are actually just really good.

Crooked Rain is definitely the best Pavement album, but they're all good. And Harness Your Hopes is such a good song, the Brighten special edition is probably my favorite of all the re-releases. That and the original version of And Then are too good to be obscure bsides.
