Hope Taylor gets AOTY. If it can't be her, I hope it's Jhene or Dua, but I can't really see how this one will play out. Honestly don't care too much for the SOTY/ROTY categories, but I'd like the Box or Cardigan for song, and Say So or Don't Start Now for record (but feel like that will go to Savage). I'm also not really mad on a personal level about the Weeknd snub. I didn't feel like the album was a big step forward for him, but I agree it's very surprising and doesn't make much sense to be completely shut out.

I assume Best New Artist will go to Megan Thee Stallion, and I get that decision, but if Phoebe pulls it off that would be so amazing and huge for her. Wouldn't be upset about Doja or Kaytranada though either. Kaytranada is weird to me as best new artist. I didn't perceive Bubba as giving him the kind of breakthrough to justify it compared to 99.9%, but I guess he's had more of a slow burn and it just finally happened. I would love to see him get best dancing recording, especially since it would give a grammy to kali Uchis too. I hope it's him or Madeon for dance album. Always happy to see Brittany Howard pick up noms in any category. It's cool to see Free Nationals pick up a nod for progressive R&B album. Haven't listened to it a ton, but Time goes off. Hoping for Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town wins in the country sections.

Other picks (as in my choice, not who I think):
    Pop solo - Watermelon Sugar
Pop duo - Rain On Me (also happy with Exile, but think it'll go to Dynamite)
    Pop vocal album - Chromatica
Rock performance - "Stay High" Brittany Howard
Rock song - "Kyoto" Phoebe Bridger
Alternative album - Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers (think it'll go to Fiona)
    Best rap performance - Bop
Best melodic rap - Lockdown or The Box
Best Rap Album - haven't listened to any of these but it'd be cool to see Freddie Gibbs win (i'm gonna listen to that now)

And really really hope Jack picks up producer of the year this year. I think he fully deserves it.

@Matt Chylak, did you see the completely out-of-left-field nomination for Katie Pruitt in the Best Engineered Album category? They didn't nominate her anywhere else (fools!), but that was cool to see.

The complete absence of Jason Isbell in the Americana/roots categories and The Killers in the rock categories are both huge misses.

That's a no from me, dawg.

I recognise him actually. He was in a Vox Earworm video where he's talking about Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder and how interesting it's arrangement is. Cool little video.

Rock performance is incredible. Though if Not doesn't come home with two awards then what's the point. Would be great to see Punisher win too

Yeah, isn't that more on his label than the Grammys? Either way, that album was a snooze and he's a bozo.

It's good for my mental health that I Know the End wasn't nominated because I would get way too invested in it winning.

That Bieber post is so insufferably annoying. It's so blatantly following Tyler's cue from last year, except Tyler had about a 100x more legitimate grievance. Between this and that dumb little song with Shawn Mendes, he wants to be oppressed sooo bad

Bon Iver makes better music than her but I get what she’s saying

Totally agree. Best New Artist has always been a very white category, like Meghan Trainor or Macklemore winning - like, why?

But I'd never feel bad for Nicki. She's had her own success and is also absolute trash.

The grammys have gotten a lot of things wrong but this is not one of them.

Also, in what world is "Yummy" nominated for a Grammy and "Blinding Lights" isn't?

This is cool and all, but it's kind of undermined by them missing The Chicks here...especially since they nominated a very, very mediocre Little Big Town album instead.
