I'll just say it to have it in text, I disagree. I think she's a one song artist

Same! Every time they post on Instagram I’m terrified it’s a closure announcement

I feel like they're gonna be ok in the end. I think they have enough rich LA/Hollywood connections. I also could be totally and completley wrong.

If The Weeknd had been invited and won for “Blinding Lights” at the end, that would’ve been as close to perfect as a Grammys will ever get. Turns out removing all the presenters and focusing on the music goes a heck of a long way to improving the show!

Why was Album of the Year not the last award of the night?

Was this the first year they ever did that?

Thought that was kind of weird.

Trevor Noah, when pointing out the difference between SOTY and ROTY, made a point to specifically talk about the importance that one song can have on making an artist with people all obsessively streaming that song billions of times.

Perhaps the Grammys feel like they reflecting that changing dynamic of music fandom/streaming culture with ROTY being awarded last. But weirdly, they gave it to a pretty underwhelming Billie Eilish song instead of the 2020 defining Megan song.

They did give out ROTY last in last years Grammys too.

It was too long, and Trevor Noah was painfully unfunny, but this was the best show they've had in years. Performances>Awards is the formula they need to follow, the Jools Holland set up was perfect for this.

Won't argue the winners, except that Freddie got jobbed.

Justin Bieber winning a Grammy for a country performance is fucking hilarious.

A questionable decision, since I've rarely met a person IRL who knows the difference between Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

Dynamite wasn't released until this summer, so they haven't played it for any in-person audiences at all!

  18. Oh yeah, you're right. I don't like BTS, but I am interested to see if they explode even bigger once stadium tours start again.

I am one that got hooked on them via Dynamite, and there are a LOT of us, I think. I'm curious to see if they add dates when they reschedule their tour, since they are already selling out football stadiums for multiple dates per city before all this.

I don't know if you could tell from the pre-recorded packages, but they're trying to turn that into the most prestigious award the way the Oscars do Best Picture.

I didn't watch, just caught the highlights later.

This seems like an odd choice to me. Again, just anecdotally speaking, but I can't ever recall anyone really giving a shit about Record of the Year? The ones I see or hear people actually talking about are usually AOTY and Best New Artist, and sometimes Song of the Year. I just don't really think a lot of people know what differentiates Record of the Year from Song of the Year (something the Grammys themselves have never done a good job at with their broadcasts OR their nominees.

Album of the Year was always the natural choice for the Grammy's version of Best Picture, because everyone know what those awards are honoring.

  24. I sort of understand their logic but AOTY still feels like the thing to end on
