Just wondering: is legalized marijuana good or bad for people who were previously dealing illegally? Does it take business away from them? Are they able to get a permit or something?

 

I would say 100% bad.

 

This is what I figured but I wanted to be sure. I assume decriminalized weed is good for dealers though? No dispensary but you don't have to worry as much about getting caught?

The licensing costs alone are crazy excessive. I think I saw like a total of $15k for permitting in Mass. Way better off staying underground if they have a good network of regular customers who trust them and their product. There could be some massive loopholes at play with "gifting" weed of a certain amount being 100% legal.

 

Whoa that's crazy expensive. The gifting thing makes sense though, there's a similar thing when you share music privately. Definitely need to look more into the logistics of it, I think I, like a lot of people, got caught up in an easier time for myself when it's not that simple

Yeah, to be honest I have no clue what the licensing/permit costs are for anything else to compare that number to. Just seeing it surprised me. In the grand scheme of it all, people opening a dispensary are going to be spending a heck load more money on opening and operating their facility and whatnot so compared to all that its minuscule

 

the licensing costs depend on what you want to do - grow, transport, sell retail/wholesale etc. right now with the taxes the way they are in california, i am almost certain that people are staying with their black market guys, particularly if they were buying decent bud before legalization.

there's a push for equity in this state in terms of reducing felonies and expunging misdemeanors related to weed - you have to petition the courts but in the bigger cities i think you could find a clinic to help you. no idea what it costs, but i wouldn't be surprised to see that as a barrier to fixing your record.

edit: to give you an idea of the taxes, in San Jose you'll pay about 34.25% in taxes on every purchase. combination of federal/state/local taxes.

sorry, i meant since you had eaten the edible. usually they take about an hour to kick in, but they can take up to 2 in my experience depending on what else youve eaten. did you take another dose or the bad trip was off of one?
